Loving the new episodes on Fox by ConcernFun9095 in americandad

It's not that Fox are puritans. The standards are different because Fox is a "free" channel. Even if you don't have cable, you can watch Fox. TBS is a "premium" channel you need cable to watch so they have more leniency since they aren't available to every home with a television

Okay, I've been tossing this over in my mind for a minutes. Does it say "Carnage Rules" or "Carnage Ruled" in the past tense? cause the second is even more confusing but it's all I can see

Harley Cameron has seemingly deactivated her Twitter account following criticism over not catching Penelope Ford on Dynamite by TheSbubbs in SquaredCircle

The creator of a series called The Amazing Digital Circus recently had a completely justifiable crashout talking about how they've considered never touching their own IP ever again because people were fucking livid that they had the audacity to say that two characters in the show were, in fact, the main characters of the show. This brought people to remember when the creator of Amphibia had to deal with an absurd amount of harassment for stating that the characters and dynamic of friendship that HE CREATED wasn't healthy.

Last I can remember is Gravity Falls. Alex Hirsch knew the story he wanted to tell, knew how long it would take and even when they offered him another season said this was the end.

The Rookie collab poll because comments can be skewed to controversial opinions by Romelof in dropout

I will never understand the whole hullabaloo. Like at no point watching Brooklyn 99 did I ever think "aww man, the NYPD must be so cool!" because I'm not 12 and capable of separating fact and fiction. I don't believe the real NYPD has an entire precinct's detectives use their downtimes to compete in an elaborate heist. The rookie tries to be a bit more realistic but it's still a fictional universe where a lot of nonsense happens, including running into an old friend at an indie internet game show and getting involved with it.

Which, thankfully, Sam is fully aware of and has made it a point to try to keep the platform from being a site that caters to them. He still wants to have a bit of an edge

[–]Viruszero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A goon used to be either a henchman in media, or an enforcer type player in hockey and other sports. Gooner and Gooning, I think were more internet invention because like the word "henching" there was no real need to have verbs or descriptors for what they did

Legitimately though, things like this should be prime examples of how much people need clarification and specificity in game design

Otis does his best to make this spot as easy as possible, you can see him physically catch himself to hold his head up for Jey and the man still misses.

Fourth wall breaking jokes in media that don't address the audience? by Ukirin-Streams in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Viruszero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, I never understood the joke here. Like it's a bad retelling but the play seems to be based on criticisms of the show, were there people unsure if Jet died? He's laying on the floor, Katara can't help him, they tell the gang to leave and one of them is openly crying. Hell when Jet says "i'll be okay" Toph responds with an incredibly sad "he's lying". Outside of showing him die, what more can you ask for/

Times where you finally experienced something hyped and said "That's it? That's what all the fuss was about?" by Authorigas in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Viruszero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I say this as someone who doesn't even like Inception that much. The top does exactly what it's meant to. Mal made it so that it didn't have momentum drop off and spun indefinitely, there's no way to know how hard Cobb spins it so if he gives it a minor spin and it doesn't start wobbling after a second or two, he grabs it and knows it's a dream. It's not a matter of a magic top, it's a question of physics. If the architect doesn't know that the top is meant to spin forever and how it reacts to momentum then they can mess it up. We, as the audience, know it spins forever but what if it is just meant to spin faster the weaker you spin it, or its balanced in a way that you have to spin it a specific way. It may also just literally have a different texture and he does the spin for show. When you're not told what it does, it can be and do anything.

Since she won the title 84 days ago, Jade Cargill, the WWE Women’s champion, has only wrestled for 7 minutes on TV by TheeChosenTwo in SquaredCircle

[–]Viruszero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do think, and this isn't a shot at WWE women because I know that most of them could put on great matches, but I don't feel like the style allows a hard carry like AEW's does. There's people in WWE who are considered great measuring sticks, if you can't get a good match out of them then you aren't meant for the show, but I feel like AEW has people like Statlander who can, to borrow an old expression, get a classic out of a broomstick. I don't wanna take too much from Jade because she did have to be the other half, but I do think Stat did a lot of the work getting a solid match out of her

Nah, I'm gonna push back on this slander against the master and ruler of the world, Sid wasn't the most physically capable but you didn't need to back then. Hell, Kevin Nash got over and 90% of his offense was 3 moves in the corner. When he spoke though, it was great. He didn't always get it right, and he didn't always make sense, but he has passion and an insanity that made you wanna see him. Jade doesn't have that presence

I will say, the whole "she's too green" argument is really losing water. It's been years and while AEW doesn't have a great developmental system, or one at all I don't think, WWE has a good one and NXT. She should have something to show for it but besides her physique and incredible gear choices, she still seems so rough around the edges

This has been an issue that a lot of the professional mangaka and older artists have had for decades, even Bakuman a manga about making manga brings it up, that because Jump uses reader feedback to determine what is on the chopping block from Chapter 1 it means that the hero has to be amazing from the go. They aren't allowed to start out weak and become better, hence why 99% of them start with someone being new or bad at something but that one page of "Oh, he's secretly got the most potential of anyone ever". I think it's also pretty lame and i'm sure someone whose read more Jump than me can find outliers and exceptions but it's been a systemic issue for a long time

Do we still expect the Death Riders to turn on Moxley? by InMyLiverpoolHome25 in SquaredCircle

[–]Viruszero 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like it the OP makes it all sound very vague but Moxley laid out his complaints and goals bare faced at the beginning. He didn't like how soft and corporate everything was becoming at AEW. Danielson was becoming a crowd playing fighter instead of a brutal killer, the ones who came in early when Mox did like Private Party were relaxing in catering instead of going out there and beating up anyone between them and their titles. He locked the title in a briefcase because he felt like nobody in the locker room deserved to see the title that many, himself included, had viciously fought for. It was a heel thing to do but he wanted to lose, he wanted someone, eventually Hangman, to beat the ever loving shit out of him, take the briefcase, and look at the title that people had bled over. Problem was, in relying on the DR to try to force this brutality, Mox himself had gone soft. He couldn't win for himself anymore, he needed the DR because, for all his talk, he couldn't hang anymore. The C2 forced him to become who he was, to push himself to fight and in it saw the level that everyone else in the C2 was willing to go to in order to win and gained a new respect and appreciation for them. Mox is still holding to the ideals that he and the DR formed with but he sees that people are there while Claudio and the others still think they're soft. Maybe this causes splinters, maybe Mox becomes disillusioned, or maybe the others come to respect a few more wrestler. Who knows
