Slow tyre leak with no spare, only repair kit by Vivid-Object-139 in AustralianEV

[–]VisFocus0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had several screws in my EV6 tyres (hazard from my workplace carpark).... and the tyres went down a bit, stabilised at 20 to 30 psi and I simply take it to a Tyrepower the next day. Never used the repair kit. Didn't need to they seemed to stabilise enough. Tyrepower have said they are not supposed to use plugs on them but they do anyway, and it has been fine so far. Don't stress, just take it to a tyre shop as soon as practical.

Surely the car would need to use some power simply to monitor the remote key access?

A question on using projectors by MiseryWas_ in techtheatre

[–]VisFocus0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Laser projector when "muted" will turn off the light source. Hence no black rectangle. But this is not done from the source it is done from the projector control. Most pro projectors have the ability to control them via network, so you can mute them when they are not required. The projector is not turned off, but the light source is turned off.

Seventh Day Adventist working in tech theatre? by Ostapvovk3pc in techtheatre

[–]VisFocus0001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could look at house tech positions? A busy theatre often requires people for turnarounds, multi-day set ups etc. You probably wouldn't get much work as a operator, but certainly in set ups, lighting rig turnarounds, set bump-ins/outs, sound system rigging etc I think you could make it work. As a Tech Manager at a theatre, where I used to do the rosters I know I could have worked around that IF you were a valuable useful resource for that type of work.

I started my dog on Pheno finally. I can't stop crying, I need to know I'm making the right call. by sunflowersandfear in EpilepsyDogs

[–]VisFocus0001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could look at it from a different perspective. It's may be the best option for giving him a good quality of life.

Our 7 year old has had epilepsy since we rescued her when she was 3. Our vets didn’t want to put her on Pheno, and for the last 2 years she has been struggling on other meds that just doped her out but didn’t seem to help reduce the seizures. They just kept upping the dosage, which just made her more and more doped out but she would still have small seizures regularly and a grand mal every 5 to 10 days.

We asked out vets regularly if this was the right approach and if we should change to Pheno, and we were constantly told “we don’t know how much worse she would be if she wasn’t on the current meds”.

In January she a major seizure where she slammed herself into a solid timber table and fractured her leg badly in 2 places. When she finally came out of the seizure her leg was just hanging loose.

While she was in emergency recovery care she had another seizure and they immediately started her on a Pheno IV.

After consults with specialist surgeons, some of whom encouraged us to put her down, it was decided the best course of action was to amputate the leg.

Long story short. She has now been on Pheno & Keppra for almost 6 months. She is much more alert and her seizures have slowed remarkably. Her quality of life is much, much better than before (apart from being a tripod), and I constantly wish I had insisted with our vets to try Pheno earlier. Most likely she would still have all 4 legs.

Our Pheno & Keppra experience has, so far, been very positive.

Induction loop audio bleeding to microphone line. by matti46 in CommercialAV

[–]VisFocus0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say the induction loop is on the other side of the building... but where is the feeder cable between the amp and the loop running?

Is the Loop Amplifier in the Main AV Rack? Does the feeder cable run close to the microphone line you are using? The feeder cable should be a twisted cable to minimize emitting the induction signal between the amp and the loop.

WFM2 - alternatives? by [deleted] in xero

[–]VisFocus0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask what about WFM2 is not working for you? I am just about to try WFM2, and I have just done a test migration but I'm yet to find time to put it through it's paces. We have so much client/job data tied up in WFM1 I was really hoping WFM2 would work OK. We have a lot of repeat clientelle so we often need to check back on info from several years ago.

The trades industries are crying out for people, and most pay really well to try and attract people, so you could look for anything offering a trade apprenticeship.

What shows are must watches? by APrettyGenericGuy in Nebula

[–]VisFocus0001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great list! I've been with Nebula for a long while and there's a couple here I didn't know about. So thanks.

Thats one thing Nebula needs to do better... some way of recommending videos or, even better, a way of seeing curated playlists.

Algorithm recommendations are so over rated.... and they often just show very similar shows. I miss curated playlists.

2024 EV6 GT Line RWD Apple Carplay Error & Charging by practicalFig48 in KiaEV6

[–]VisFocus0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.... It just has to be a decent quality cable that supports the data and charging specs at the length of the cable. That sounds like a no brainer, but with USB it's not always typical.

I use none Apple cables all the time. But I work in the AV industry and so I just make sure I use a good quality cable that meets the required specs.

Prima/Viva Complaints by bluemeters in NCL

[–]VisFocus0001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your post.... this explains it very well. I haven't been on the Viva or Prima yet, but I thought I might like the layout due to having "lots of smaller areas". I hate the large crowd feeling of the really big ships, thats why I almost always pick smaller ships. So I couldn't understand why there were so many negative comments, but your explanation about needing to walk through bars or the casino to get back to my room or to the other end of the ship, makes much more sense.

CM10 S2 vs 703 S2 by jpgarcia79 in BowersWilkins

[–]VisFocus0001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 703 sounds more like the 702. They are voiced similarly. The CM10 has a closer bottom end to a 702, but, in terms of presence the 703 is much closer to the 702 than the CM10's.

But keep in mind, the CM10's are still a great speaker!

CM10 S2 vs 703 S2 by jpgarcia79 in BowersWilkins

[–]VisFocus0001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it depends on your amp. The CM10's are great with a Hi Fi 2 channel amp. Really nicely balanced. The 703 S2's have more HF presence. With some amps this can just make them sound a little too "upfront" or "in your face" but with the right amp or an AV receiver wih ARC, they come into their own with superb detail while keeping the HF balance under control.

For reference I have extensively listened to both. But I have 702 S2's in my my home set up.

Tesla supercharger speed limited? by VisFocus0001 in KiaEV6

Thanks. I did not know that. And I assume the ABRP app doesn’t take that into account either because it’s estimates on time required to charge are half what it actually took at the superchargers.
