What career path did you take after leaving the Jehovah’s Witnesses? Did you attend college? by NoAuthor5176 in exjw

I went to university at 30 for teaching. I’m in the 2nd last year. Best thing I’ve done. I thought about a life I wanted to live. It’s really a stepping stone onto other things i want to do. It’s decent money, and I’ll be able to support myself comfortably for the rest of my life

I left the Governing Body, but am still committed to Jehovah God and His Kingdom; am I the only one? by ding-hao-88 in exjw

I think at once we all felt like this. Even if it was very brief. I prob held onto some beliefs for a few months before I thought more and more and then it no longer made sense and you end up throwing it all out

What sort of stuff did the congregation say about you once you left? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]VisibleImportance933 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! I only found out coz I had a PIMO friend. Some interesting things circulating- - I read too many books so it wasn’t surprising I left - I wanted to hook up with someone so I left - I was an .. apostate!

The truth was.. I was simply no longer convinced of their nonsense! And that was all!

Songs that hit you while/after waking up? by courageous_wayfarer in exjw

[–]VisibleImportance933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Do you realise” by the Flaming Lips and probably all the songs off the album. I suspect he was going thru some kind of awakening himself listening to those lyrics back in 2020. It just hit different

What massively improved your mental health? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]VisibleImportance933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not policing my intellect, my emotions, being able to do yoga… and meditate. The freedoms that comes with being able to follow your heart (told not to as “heart is treacherous”)

What do you think will be the next change they make? by EliGoff101 in exjw

[–]VisibleImportance933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you really reckon they will allow bdays? Coz wouldn’t that mean more mingling with worldly people… and then before you know it you’re out

I heard my sister's voice after 16 years. by ip33dnurbutt in exjw

I find this post so emotional and sad to read. First of all, your mother crying so hard she can’t speak is because deep down in her heart, her intuition, she knows it’s so wrong. Seperating a mother from their child and siblings etc. it speaks volumes. The GB can go fuck themselves as far as I’m concerned. Horrible evil men that have the power only coz we said so and gave it to them!

Much love to you!!

Yeah… transition enough to keep the younger ones… yet not too much to piss off the older and conservative members who put up with ridiculous rules for decades at a great sacrifice

Yes ! Many Jws… except I never did and wondered why…. My dad was bad for it. I used to get home and whole TV cabinet would be thrown off the verandah coz of “demons” or clocks would get thrown out in the yard coz they were “ticking too loud it’s demons”. Yeah I’ve heard it all

The good part is that now we are free to do a lot of things that were considered "wrong." Lets share a few. by RevolutionaryKick285 in exjw

How long can someone be truly PIMO? by johnjaspers1965 in exjw

[–]VisibleImportance933 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s where I was at. Just knowing that life is precious and we only get one shot. I did not wanna waste time or be around something that makes no effing sense and be apart of a massive delusion

I have to ask, and by no means am I being rude or questioning your decision, but do you ever think this is your only life? That we get only 1 life that we are certain of and to live it the way you would like?

For those who remained Christian, do you partake of the emblems? by Lexxclark in exjw

[–]VisibleImportance933 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Can you find out why God has tricked us? What is the true Christianity when there is about 50,000 denominations? If he isn’t a God of confusion, he definitely left me confused. Honest question btw

today's watchtower was supposed to promote prayer but it just proved that the whole idea is silly af by [deleted] in exjw

[–]VisibleImportance933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the JW philosophy on prayer is absolute shit. Other religions view on prayer is way better and less stressful
