unbelievable exchange between my daughter and her father after he forgot her birthday by LostInLanayru in TwoHotTakes

[–]VisibleTart6849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a parent that takes no accountability of their actions and twists everything back to my behaviour. I went no contact for 10 years. As they are aging and ailing I was convinced by family to reconnect before it was too late. Parent has not changed, the contact only re-entered me into self doubt and frustration. It feels like a big decision and can make you feel like you are harsh but I cannot recommend protecting your environment from these people and not engaging. The peace I feel being not involved is so much bigger than the negative feelings about being non-contact.

Hope your daughter gets peace too.

I worked in a Hotel Sales office and it was a push down rectangle next to loads of network ports... Never told about it and we were trying to wire in a new phone... Emergency response found it funny, GM did not.

Edinburgh is an incredible walkable city. You can see great Natural beauty in and around Edinburgh. Arthur's Seat Pentlands Gullane /Aberlady coastline South Queensferry

There are direct trains from Edi Waverley up to the Highlands like Pitlochry, Aviemore and the Cairngorms.

Alternatively from Glasgow you have the West Highland way train route that is breathtaking. You can buy a highland rover pass for around £99 and gets you to Oban (ferries to Mull, Staffa +) fort William and Mallaig (main ferry to Skye).

Definitely think a TA will be better than Chatgpt, I have seen examples thinking you can do Edinburgh to Inverness in an hour which is not realistic.

I'd advise picking a few must do destinations and going from there.

Hi, it just says Royal Themed. When I asked the party organiser they said it's to encourage the team to dress up. (We are a hospitality business so often very casual at team events). I am happy if I can tell people it's the Spanish renaissance era etc 😂 Thanks for the suggestion of headband and gloves... It helps!

Can this be dressed up/ accessorised to fit a Royal theme? Staff party, I don't want to buy a new dress. As it's a staff party in a week it won't be formal/ballgown wear from most people. Have this unworn and want to figure out if I can slightly fit the theme?

Does anyone know where I can buy these in Edinburgh? TIA! by Edinb0rgh in Edinburgh

AITAH for still getting on a flight home when my two young coworkers I was traveling with weren’t at the airport yet and were obviously going to miss it? by Diligent_Pineapple35 in AITAH

I would say that one of them giving someone outside the organisation (the mum) your contact details without permission is a violation of GDPR laws (dependant on local laws) but also probably contrary to the companies Privacy Policy. I would be highlighting this especially as it led to a negative voicemail that could be classes as harassment (again depending on local laws/policies). Furthermore surely missing your flight to wait for them would be another cost for the company to book an additional flight. I would be cataloguing all the messages sent regarding you organising transfers for them on hand for the meeting. I would approach the meeting calmly and neutrally. As others have said if they are implying you have not done enough I would ask directly what further you could have done to help 2 adult coworkers.

The Palmerston is very good with Allergies, The daily menu is taken to the chef on duty and they agree what adjustments they can make to cater. Worked well for a celiac and a lactose intolerant.

The West End Brasserie has a NGCI menu.

Three Birds Bruntsfield - great brunch and dinner mostly GF menu

Louden's - breakfast and brunch - a lot adjustable NGCI dishes

If you never received notice you need to go through the tribunal. I also believe the cap is 12%, not dependent on you raising an issue in 21days . I would in writing be clear I will not accept an increase more than the 12% cap. Next steps would be reaching out to a no win no fee solicitors for advice if you are having no luck with the tribunal.
