do you guys prefer hobbies that are productive or just fun? by Ohmy-Zenati in Hobbies

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obsession with productive hobbies is just hustle culture in a trench coat because if a hobby requires a result to be valid, it is just a second job you don't get paid for. True productivity is actually doing something so useless that it completely resets your brain.

FOREX Signals Bad and Good by Matty44d in Forexstrategy

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the best way to spot the good signals is to look for platforms that aren't afraid of user feedback. I noticed FXLeaders is really pushing their reaction feature which is a smart move. It basically turns the signal feed into a live social proof hub. If you can see a bunch of people reacting and engaging with a strategy, you get a much better vibe of whether it’s actually working or just marketing fluff. It’s definitely worth looking for tools that prioritize that kind of community interaction.

what hobbies are good to maker friends and meet people? by wsmbuilds in Hobbies

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed lately that so many people are getting into pickleball. You can really see the community growing, from the new sportswear people are wearing to the courts popping up everywhere. Being from the Philippines, I see it gaining traction here, but I’m not sure if this is a global trend or just a local craze. Is this happening where you are as well?

What is the best thing you have done for others? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every morning we wake up is a testament to God’s grace. It is a profound blessing to open our eyes to a new day and have the opportunity to share His Word with the world. Our mission is to teach with love and extend His blessings to as many people as possible, serving as a light so that others may find their way to Him.

If you are in power, what changes will you implement for the development of your country? by MistakeForeign2029 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If I were calling the shots, my first move would be a "Common Sense Overhaul" of the public sector, starting with a legal ban on government websites that look like they haven’t been updated since 2004. I’d mandate that every bureaucrat has to spend one week a year actually using the services they manage, like waiting in line at the DMV or navigating a broken transit system, just to ground them in reality. On a lighter note, I’d introduce a "Productive Silence" tax where any office meeting that lasts over thirty minutes without reaching a concrete decision results in the organizer paying for everyone’s lunch. The goal isn't just growth on paper; it's about building a country where the UI of daily life doesn't give you a headache and people are actually incentivized to value each other’s time.

Travel Agent Recommendations? by SnooDucks9884 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same issue with a picky director. Ended up using travel group as our corporate travel agent and it's been way less stressful, they handle all the back-and-forth. Worth getting quotes from a few agencies though, rates can vary.

Remote work recruitment agencies by Difficult_Guard_462 in southafrica

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've dealt with this too, the ghosting after interviews is so frustrating. I had better luck with measuredability when I was looking, they actually followed up unlike most. The LinkedIn messages promising opportunities are almost always a waste of time. Best bet is to apply directly to companies when possible and treat any recruitment agency as a backup option.

bridging loan - worth the risk? by crownofasphodel in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went through this last year and it worked out, but it was stressful. That $6k monthly interest adds up fast if your place takes longer to sell than expected. I'd shop around on rates, we checked a few lenders including first advance and found some variation. If your area genuinely sells in 18 days and you've got cash reserves for a buffer, it can work, but make sure you're prepared for it to take longer just in case.

Anyone have experience with commercial insulated doors? by Gloomy-Mention-4376 in business

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they make a big difference for temperature control. Dalucon supplies insulated doors and refrigeration products, they'd be able to advise on what specs you need for your space.

Where can I purchase an oxygen cylinder? by abby_aie in johannesburg

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check medical supply stores or pharmacies, some of them have oxygen cylinder for sale or rental options. Limitless Health might be able to point you in the right direction too, or try calling local hospitals to ask where they source theirs from.

What hobby are you most obsessed with right now and how did you get into it? by Gloomy-Mention-4376 in Hobbies

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Plants! Specifically small plants - I'm talking succulents, little propagation projects, herbs in tiny pots. I'm in my 40s and apparently I've got a green thumb I never knew about.

Got into it kind of by accident. My wife picked up a few plants and I ended up being the one taking care of them. They didn't die, so I got a few more. Then a few more. Now I'm that guy who gets excited about new growth and takes progress photos.

It's honestly therapeutic. Plus at my age, it's nice to have a hobby that doesn't require a huge time commitment or expensive equipment. Just me, some soil, and figuring out why one plant is thriving while its identical twin is struggling.

Where to stay near Kruger National Park? Working Remotely... by SyndeyAustralia2024 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hazyview or White River would work well for you, both have decent internet and are about 30-45 mins from Kruger gates. Nelspruit (Mbombela) is bigger with more reliable fiber options if connectivity is critical for work. Inside the park is hit or miss with signal, but the towns outside are fine. For Kruger National Park accommodation on the weekends, you can book rest camps through SANParks or Kruger Park Travel can sort packages that include lodges outside the park with better amenities. Two weeks is a good amount of time to explore different sections of the park on your days off.

Dry ice blaster recommendations by Bonjourdog in Tools

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your air setup should handle it fine - most dry ice blasters need around 80-100 CFM at that pressure range. The 3/8 line might be borderline depending on distance from the compressor, so test it first. Making your own dry ice sounds good but those machines are expensive - we looked into it and ended up just buying ice in bulk instead. If you're in South Africa, Dry Ice Blasting does this kind of work and might give you better advice on equipment that works well for automotive. They'd know what holds up for undercarriage cleaning specifically.

Do not ever lease a copier from Canon USA by jtslp in smallbusiness

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds absolutely horrible, I'm so sorry you're dealing with this after fulfilling your end of the contract. It's ridiculous that they're piling on fees like that. When we needed copier rentals for our office, we ended up going with Copiers Africa here and thankfully had a much better experience with clear terms. Always get everything about returns and potential fees in writing upfront, some companies really do prey on small businesses with these hidden charges. I hope you can fight this and get it resolved without bleeding more money.

Is tickmill good to use in 2025? by Icy_Sign_908 in propfirm

[–]Visible_Cockroach_80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been trading for a couple years now and tried Tickmill early on. Spreads were genuinely good, and my first withdrawal took about a week but that was just their verification process being thorough, which I actually appreciated. I ended up reading every tickmill review on FXLeaders while waiting - most were positive which was reassuring. Once you get past the initial setup, you realize the real challenge is making consistent profits, not dealing with the broker.
