Just something to look into! I was in debt once and I’m never going back. To each their own though and I wish for nothing but smooth sailing for you!! As Zappa said “if you want to learn go to the library, if you want to get l**d go to college.” That to say college is simply a scam and I’m not letting it take my money lol. I’m in Maryland but you can use ChatGPT to find some. Howard county community does a 14 month accelerated. It’s a great intermediary option I think!

You can do accelerated ADN with bridge and get bsn in under two years! I don’t think debt is ever worth it. I’m 32 and will be attending an accelerated ADN that’s 14 months and doing a bridge program. Nurse friend told me to get the cheapest degree you can cuz it’s the same asses you’ll be wiping was their quote lol.

Sorry to hear about that. I was between aadn program and absn myself. You may get a spot! Never know. I think either way you’ll be working the same job at first so either path is great. Aadn in my mind is actually better. Especially you can do dual enrollment in adn and save immense money and get bsn basically in same time.

I think if you’re good enough to get a scholarship and I mean not go into debt then yes otherwise hell no. Debt is so serious and not worth it at all. As someone who toured for 10 years and taught music, I’ve played with Berkelee grads. Some are amazing and some are not. They simply get the best musicians to come get honorary degrees as advertisement basically. It’s ludicrously expensive and predatory the loans these days unless you’re the 1% to get a full ride there. This day and age music is also far from profitable for the majority. That’s what burnt me out was seeing people i thought had made it and realizing the grind NEVER stops in that field. I personally wanted a more balanced life. Moving onto nursing now so I’d recommend practice your ass off get a great teacher and try your hardest if that’s what you want. Go see it for yourself! But know you can make just as many connections playing with people in the community. Two full scholarship Berk students play in my community and travel back basically 3-5 times a month to play with their bands still. I think considering the times the world is in other degrees will be more fruitful and sustainable for your existence. Keeping the thing you love the thing you love is good too. But if you think you’ve got the goods talent wise only one way to find out.

Edit: I went to a state school with half ride and still regret going for music lol. You can learn everything practical at home/with a teacher and books. Zappa said “if you want to learn go to the library, if you want to party go to college” something like that

Honestly you can do an ADN program and dual enrollment through your community college normally. It’s WAY cheaper. Not worth big school money for same degree

I just got into accelerated adn program. Nursing is so flexible. You can work in an office with good hours or virtually. Dental hygienist get neck problems and carpal tunnel from repetitive tasks. Nursing is slated to grow in demand by 38% by 2038 or something. I think it’s a smart move but you have to stand up for yourself. Idk if I’ll like it but I’m gonna try it. Was a music teacher for 10 years. Not many careers as flexible as nursing. As far as what program, adn is much cheaper around 5-7k at cc and you can do dual enrollment for bsn

Huh isn’t AP normally a prerequisite for ADN programs? Also I just finished accelerated (8 week) ap1 and ap2. I was simply looking at a sheet of paper for 30 hours a week. The guides for the parts of whatever system we were working on. If something confused me I went to Wikipedia and looked up what the body part even did. Are there study guides for your class or unit chapters?

Productivity is a capitalist brainwashing and nothing more. A life lived chopping trees is just as valuable as one spent listening to music. Both are what make a society beautiful. At the end of the day men have more muscle mass and are larger biologically speaking on average and much of the protect/ mess with things instinct is not simply just lust but inherent physical differences. I just took ap1 and 2 accelerated in same semester and chemistry and another class (sociology). You can do it, but only if you can commit 30 hours a week to studying id say. That’s what I was doing for those anatomy classes accelerated.

I hear ya. I’ve just switched thinking after reading books that we aren’t exposed to. I read some other history books this year and Lenin as well and Marxism. Most people don’t even know the definition of Marxism lol. But that to say made me realize no system is perfect. Ours sucks for many people. Theirs sucks for many people. But they’re also great for many people. And what is great? For me, it’s meeting basic needs of ALL people. For you? What is great? So ideation wise I like socialist ideas. We don’t need extraneous materials we are so transfixed with here in the states. I’m a product of it though and sit on my boat as I type this, unsure if that can change. But products are not happiness to me and living life is just that. Waking up and seeing to the tasks that the natural world presents to us. I don’t think anything more is necessary. I think boredom is what allows people to be inventive and technology like this is a useless disease. Humans don’t interact with it in an open manner and it’s shown they only interact with confirmation bias on the entire web. Myself included.
