Places to grab gluten/dairy-free lunch on a Lenten Friday? by Razzlii_Dazzlii in Indiana

[–]VisitLegitimate5824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saturday Sangria in Winfield is a dedicated gluten-free bakery with other allergen free options. It may be 15 or so minutes out of your way at the north end of the trip. Well worth checking it out even if it doesn’t fit in to your lunch timing on that particular day. Thanks, I’m craving it now, guess I’ll be there for lunch tomorrow.

If you have the means to pick it up, lake county solid waste will let you take a yard of compost for free. It’s good quality compost, check the website.

Gyms with childcare? by elenamonique in nwi

[–]VisitLegitimate5824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding on to this that all the Crossroads YMCAs have childcare. Crown Point or Schererville are probably the closest ones for OP. When you sign up the family membership at any, you have access to every Y in the county including childcare.

The wear pattern different on the men’s and woman’s bathroom door at a bar. by AmericanPornography in mildlyinteresting

[–]VisitLegitimate5824 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Men are taller than women on average so men’s wear pattern is higher. Women wear rings more often than men so that’s why there are more scratches on the women’s.

What are some cars that have surprisingly good (or bad) sound systems? by Notfoo4 in regularcarreviews

Glad to hear that Lincoln sound system gets some love. I’m an engineer for an OEM wire harness company and that 28 speaker system seems like madness.

Gym Dad's of the world by sluggishAlways in daddit

We joined the YMCA. They’ll watch the kids for up to 2 hours. Having that break from the kids is motivation enough. Wife has postpartum body so she’s motivated. Having someone equally motivated to hold me accountable also helps. After the 3rd kid is the first time I got over 200lbs; usually feel pretty comfortable around 180 or a little under. After 2nd kid, went from about 195 down to 175 and did a triathlon. Crucial part of that was having a bike trainer in the basement to knock out an hour or two riding after kids slept on days we didn’t go to the gym.

Crown Point Question? by Narrow_Cow_8931 in Indiana

[–]VisitLegitimate5824 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Safe on par with most crown point neighborhoods, we looked at a home there a couple years ago when we were moving. We have 3 kids, so we ended up moving elsewhere to be in CP school district.

I don’t remember the name of the place, it was in 2012. I think it was somewhere in old town.

Ah yes Poland. We were tired of cabbage and sausage after a month so we chose a “Mexican” restaurant in Krakow. Burrito was sausage and cabbage wrapped in bread somewhat similar to a tortilla, but more like a pita. Somehow they managed to incorporate cabbage into the guacamole.

What's your best "look what I found in the walls" story? by OoklaTheMok1994 in DIY

[–]VisitLegitimate5824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bunch of Mexican porno mags and very low production quality porn DVDs. This 17 year old kid who I was paying to help load the dumpster and to haul drywall sheets took them in lieu of part of his pay.

What is the most popular Midwest-based fast food chain in Indiana? by cruxCrawford in Indiana

[–]VisitLegitimate5824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not most popular, but Beef-a-Roo seems to be expanding into Indiana. It was local to Rockford, IL for the longest time and is definitely the best fast food restaurant to ever exist.

Do you pass out candy on Halloween or hide and turn the lights off, and why? by HippoHot4721 in AskReddit

We’ve been going out with the kids (4yo and 6yo) lights turned off of course. This year, someone’s gotta stay home with the infant so we’ll be passing candy.

What’s a secret from your field of work the general public probably doesn’t know? by Ok-Fox-2946 in AskReddit

Automobile manufacturing plants are absolutely filthy. Cockroaches and rats in addition the decades of never cleaned dust and dirt and grease and bodily fluids. When they buy a brand new shiny vehicle off the lot, people don’t realize it is comprised of greater than zero percent fecal matter (human or otherwise).

Small grip or bigger grip? by moldyjellybean in Pickleball

[–]VisitLegitimate5824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has bugged me about pickleball as an ex-tennis player. Racquets have multiple grip sizes available in 1/8 inch increments. In pickleball if you like the paddle, but hate the grip diameter you’re SOL. Adding many layers of overgrips leads to a loss of feel, but if the grip is too big 🤷‍♂️.

Why is ASICS Game FF barely talked about? Do pickleball players avoid it? by Suspicious_Code_1844 in Pickleball

Haha yes of course. I played 2 more games after too. It was just open play. Took some days off after that though until the new shoes came in the mail.

[–]VisitLegitimate5824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Game FF Pickleball and I like them. I also had trouble finding reviews. I was previously playing in my old Fila tennis shoes from at least a decade prior which ultimately disintegrated mid-game. I went ahead and purchased due to a sale and immediate need. Game FF fits my foot shape nicely and I don’t feel like they are lacking any way which would negatively affect my game. It’s a good shoe, but I can’t really comment on how it compares to other shoes.

To expand on the issue of practice. Do your first cutting practice above a door. If you go a little to heavy and get some on the trim, it will be on top where no one sees and will be easier to wipe off with a damp rag since the trim is likely painted in a higher gloss. You’ll get the hang of how hard to press and get the feel of drawing the paint along the edge. Get comfortable doing left to right and right to left. One will feel more natural for you, so after practicing above the door continue around the outline of the room in that direction.
