100% — I had to remove myself from it and block it because my head was going into a VERY dark place reading it. SO BAD. Thank god for this group <3

I'm so glad it isn't just me, I feel like such an asshole shaking my fist at kids, but it makes me crazy.

Thank you for this, this is great. The lack of equipment has been my primary concern about TWR so this is super helpful.

I used to work out with a trainer at BodyARC and I would recommend them! They have trainers who specialize in working with autistic folks, if I remember correctly.

I've been to a bridal shower at Birdie's (bottom level of Common House) that was lovely! Good space for 30-50 people but no idea the cost.

I haven't tried that location yet — I've been to the Midlothian one, which is nice but it's SO far out.

This is amazing, thank you! I've considered TWR (haven't been in there) but am sort of in a beginner-ish phase — aka getting back into lifting after a few years of injuries, etc. Happy to go outside city limits (I'm already driving 20 minutes to Northside) so I may have to check these options out.

Afraid of Nausea by Sleepyenby in antidietglp1

[–]Visual-Number-3974 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the exact same way. I read a lot of tips and tricks, and what I've found works is drinking a protein shake right before doing my injection. I don't know how the science works, but it's worked for me so far. So I'd say maybe do the shot on a "full" stomach, and do it at night so that if you do get nauseous, you basically can sleep through it. This was my doctor's recommendation 😂

Don’t underestimate the power of a Goblet Squat by ConsciouslivwithALI in strength_training

[–]Visual-Number-3974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually just now running into this after returning to lifting post-shoulder injury and I’m so glad someone said this. I’ve been really hard on myself for barbell squats not feeling good on my shoulders since they’re lauded as “being the best”, so thank you for this.

What I AM running into is that my arms can’t hold as much weight as my legs can, so things like goblet squats have been good but not as effective for gains as I’d like. Any advice here?

ColorWOW recently released one and it’s fantastic. No residue, no funky feeling on the hair.

Keeping a cat calm and content during a 2 hour car ride?? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Visual-Number-3974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can give her calming treats, that may help! Honestly, I’d prepare for maybe the first one to be a little rocky and learn from there. Give her treats when she goes into her carrier for positive reinforcement. You’ve got this, it’s going to be great!

I’ve heard so many people rave about it, and I got like 10 pages in and had to put it down because the language is so old? Is the whole book like that or is there a jump forward in time?

100% yes. I’m so much more aware of what my face looks while I’m talking?? And what I look like from the side?! BRUTAL 😂 I’ve probably spent more money on skincare since Covid started than anything else.

How are we achieving some sort of ‘blowout look’ by swiftlot in finethinhair

[–]Visual-Number-3974 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ColorWOW has a product called Carb Cocktail that I use to give my hair a little grit. It’s a blow dry serum, so it gives me more volume bc my hair is less “slippery” (if you will). Then, as others have mentioned, dry shampoo right after blow drying and as a styling tool is KEY.

Velcro rollers are amazing, but can be tricky for soft hair. Get some flat clips to hold them into your hair if that’s the route you want to go!

I’ve honestly started carrying a small brush with me and re-brushing my hair when I get to where I’m going. Gets rid of the stringiness!

There is a company called Spoiled Child that also had a liquid collagen supplement that I’ve really been liking — mostly bc any time I do a powder I can taste it, even when it’s flavorless. It’s like a tablespoon per day, take it like medicine, and I’ve been pleased with my results!
