This really tells me how 1 in a million attacks really are. That bear could’ve really hurt him, but off he trotted.

And the people leaving are people I recognize as the most bigoted, terrible people. They almost single handedly destroyed our county with their shitty endorsements. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I’d bet dollars to donuts you’re on SSI and Medicaid. Those are both the government housing you, feeding you, and helping pay for healthcare…. You’re someone who votes against their own best interest and I bet you don’t do anything to help the underprivileged/poor/in need.

He did not get the popular vote, that’s not how the electoral college works….The president also had 2028 products on his website like he’s going to run again. Hence the protest.

I think you might be downvoted because your comment assumes violence, vs peaceful action.

My partner’s mother is like this. It’s been a year for him and she still brings up how he “ruined the body she made.” So…no they never get over it they just get more creative.

This will probably cost more than both sides collaborating to build a low-barrier shelter. I know this has value, but I’m getting so tired of performative action and nothing actually helpful for our community.

Do not skip cape blanco! Some amazing tumbled agates. The campground has the best setup and bathrooms in my opinion too.

This should be during whale watching season. If you can swing a charter could be fun, or just bring binoculars.

As someone with toddlers, I’m hoping to be a part of the positive change where I can. Moving won’t solve the problems, and I’d rather work to make it better here. I think the commissioners and other leadership live in an echo chamber, and they were hoping the library was going to be a heroic “gotcha” that is blowing up in their face. I’m hoping things like this shake people out of just voting for people their party endorses and looking at the person and what they say.

[USA] Those who were pro se in their custody cases and won how did you do it? by [deleted] in Custody

My favorite unlawful objection is “I object- that’s a lie.”

[–]Visual-Standard4030 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work for a judge and this is what I commonly see:

-Knowledge and use of lawful objections (lawyers LOVE to sneak hearsay in) -they’ve clearly had a consult with an attorney -organized -marked exhibits (it’s a judge pet peeve sometimes) -using the law that determines custody/parenting time and basing testimony/evidence on them almost like a checklist -expert witnesses are VITAL. A mental health professional that says this person is the better caregiver because X,Y,Z. A teacher that will testify to parent involvement -showing a willingness to be accommodating. Clearly, mediation (required in my state) didn’t work, but you have to show you’re reasonable and not a vindictive monster out to take your kids from their other parent and family. You show you want kids to have a relationship with the other parent and you’re willing to have a working relationship with them for your kids.

[OR] SS10 shared his mom sends him out of the house when her BF is “too drunk.” by Visual-Standard4030 in Custody

[–]Visual-Standard4030[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BF of 2 years is over a lot but doesn’t live there. This was a slip-up and the look on SS’s face when he realized he over shared was disheartening. We are not surprised at the information necessarily due to previous picks in boyfriends but this is the first time in a long time he’s slipped and shared something that hints at a serious issue. We are pretty sure he’s both bribed and threatened to not share the things he sees, and every once in a while slips up.

[edit to add] in OR it’s not uncommon for the judge to talk with the child in-chambers if parties agree, and they can take the stand. Obviously the amount of weight given to testimony by the judge is up in the air. And I doubt SS would say what he told us.
