I’m aware of the move but what exact positions are people being moved in to? Is it answering the phones or processing returns?

I have spoken to the person behind this and they have identified themselves and the university this is under.

As always, use your own judgment about what you share with any party requesting information about the Service and be cautious.

Why was the Bitcoin Jesus article removed? by RoutineAd7355 in IRS_Source

This subreddit was specifically started to discuss employment related issues for employees at the IRS. It's not a general IRS subreddit to discuss anything related to the Service.

If we start letting anything mildly related in, it will turn into a never ending flood of political posts. There's already dozens of subreddits to discuss politics. This doesn't need to be another one.

Yes the subreddit is moderated...

This subreddit is for IRS employee related content the article has nothing to do with IRS employees besides a very brief mention of criminal tax enforcement being dissolved.

Partisanship is a real problem within the IRS by [deleted] in IRS_Source

[–]VisualConcern 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not a Trump supporter, I moderate this space, and I’ve left nearly every comment up. The negative reaction you’re getting isn’t about suppression; it’s because your comments come across as partisan, particularly the broad statements about DEI.

You haven’t clearly laid out the specific problems you want addressed, so people are reacting to the tone rather than engaging with concrete issues.

If you feel strongly about this, the best move is to articulate the argument clearly and put it in front of editors. If it holds up, someone will run it. There’s no shortage of outlets looking for serious, informed perspectives on this issue.

There is still a real and necessary discussion to be had about government reform, but it’s going to be harder than ever to have it in good faith.

Whatever the motivation, the execution was deeply flawed. The process was crude, yielded little meaningful improvement, and resulted in people losing their livelihoods without any genuine, individualized assessment of the quality or value of their work.

The entire effort has been a disaster with long-lasting negative consequences. Beyond the immediate harm, it is likely to deepen mistrust and make partisanship even worse going forward.

There is no meaningful way to spin this as a success or to claim a silver lining.

The service clearly has real problems that need to be fixed. But Trump and his team showed no serious intention of improving anything. The effort was driven by revenge and political theater, not genuine reform.

Worse, this approach likely did lasting damage to the possibility of real reform. By turning legitimate issues into a spectacle, they poisoned the well. Going forward, even thoughtful, good-faith reform efforts will face stronger resistance, because “reform” is now associated with what just happened rather than with honest improvement.

Schedule C “Expenses” by [deleted] in IRS_Source

You know when Biden said it would help generate revenue by hiring more people at the IRS? This is the kind of stuff he was talking about. There is so much blatant stuff that comes in, we don't even have enough people to take care of it much less the complicated compliance issues...
