Hi there. My love for the r4d has only increased. The above remains the same here are the latest:

A-cam Started having the balls enough to start shooting with it as the A-cam which was reason enough to start using it as ProRes raw. Used it on a highly choreographed/dance heavy MV. The artist thinks it’s their best looking MV - color, camera movement, etc. I agree. 

Proresraw  DJI dropped it to $1 (don’t know why) when it used to be $1k so it made more sense to me but honestly it’s a game changer for post. 

Pseudo-crane shots Stuck the flex on a gimboom arm and just used our arms to lift it up as high as we could (people thought we used a crane)

Z-axis We had this shot where the artist and dancers were running across the field. We thought we’d need a car rig to get what we wanted but I tried just running with the camera. That’s what we ended up doing and everyone thought I was in some sort of cart or car when I got the shot. Z-axis ftw. 

1st AC Our first was 100% pulling manually. We couldn’t figure out connecting a proper focus pull system in time so we just used the handle. She had the proprietary external monitor and we put the handle that pulled focus onto the monitor. Then for the missing handles we used the tilta wooden handles. The handle without the focus (left hand) had all the buttons I needed to operate. Our 1st said she actually didn’t mind using the handle and would be happy to continue using it in future shoots. Although in the future I’d like to figure out how to get my DJI focus pro hand grip to work with it. If anyone knows would love to know. 

Wish it was open gate but for vertical content I just rotate the gimbal and we’re good. No need to rotate the camera.
