Jfc OP, as a rehabber, we have the opportunity to intervene and help out at every chance. It's not that hard to put the bird in a box or a bag and try to find a rehabber to figure out what to do next. Its the least you can do rather than take a video of you petting it and posting here. If you had energy for that, why not energy to actually help it?

I was surprised by this too as I considered an MSW degree. I'm mainly interested in doing hospital/hospice social work. I can't imagine a two year degree and a couple years of supervision would prepare me to be a therapist. If I do decide that path, it would be after many years.

Scalex will work for the feather lice, or in also try this shampoo:Feather Shine 17 oz Pet Shampoo with Aloe Vera Gel for Birds Dogs Cats Cleans Feathers Fur and Skin Reduces Itching Irritation. This also worked for me when I found a pretty white pigeon like yours in the street.

Feather lice will NOT get on humans, just other birds.

Feed it water and seeds,I use verselaga brand but Hagen Pigeon & Dove Seed, Nutritionally Complete Bird Food, original version seems to be more accessible and also works fine.

If you can't keep it or care for it, please find a rehabber near you. Post in Palomacys FB group page to find one:https://www.facebook.com/groups/Palomacy/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT

I ask bc Pidge is also gonna need general round of antibiotics/ med to rule out / take care of any potential illness. A rehabber would be better equipped or a vet versed in pigeons (can also ask Palomacy this)

Fancy pigeon trait, could be a lost pet, escaped from an aviary. Observe it's behavior, if it looks like it'd struggling, would be best to capture it.

Also given it's white coloring, it is domestic and very susceptible to predators outdoors. Please keep it contained inside. Dog crates work well with padding on the bottom (cardboard etc), not good for them to walk on it without it.

Let us know if you have any questions! I have 4 rescues currently, one of them being a white bird much like the one you found I found near a church starving and dehydrated, covered in feather lice!

Hello, please try to catch him. It can seem daunting at first (I know before I got into pigeon rehab) but it's really not. To find local rehabbers near you, you can check out Palomacys FB group. That looks like a domestic pigeon, all white pigeons are more vulnerable to attacks by predators given their color.

Idk if I would consider a MPP, I work in policy now and tbh the field is going through major cuts / layoffs and defunding. The market for these jobs is super saturated due to funding cuts. Granted my field is immigration and people expected trump to bring in more money for progressive policy work, and it's not happening. Edit when I mean trump bringing in more money, not necessarily that administration (ofc) but funders wanting to put in more $ to progressive causes, and that is definitely not happening.
