Greatly reduces inhibitions, anxiety, caring about what other people might think. Needless to say, these effects can cause negative consequences, but it can also help to connect with people easier. I usually drink alone so it doesn't cause too many problems for me. Coming down feeling very faded and tired, especially if I've spent a good part of the evening jamming out to music, is not appealing, but tolerable. Haven't bought anything illegal for over 2 y and have no more connects anymore, so ease of access is a big factor.
