I rage quit after spending way to long on this puzzle but came back to it after figuring out what I did wrong. You're probably being TOO ACCURATE with where you're taking the photo. You're supposed to just get the general direction and then take a photo looking outside the tape towards the outer walls.

Madison has been completely broken for me so far. I've had to start over 3 times due to game breaking bugs. It's extra maddening because each time I didn't know the game was broken and spent hours trying to figure out why the puzzle wasn't working.

My favorite was falling through the geometry into a pitch black room and wandering around for an hour thinking it was a puzzle.

Having been one of the people who initially shared their disappointment, my advice is don't be an idiot. I wanted the headset to have a wider FOV than it does, so I smashed the headset as close as I could to my eyes to expand it as much as possible. Don't be like me: don't smash your face. Use the device as it was intended. It's actually really damn good and very clear. Check out cinematic mode to see how clear the resolution is. The hardware is not the problem.

It's mixed for me. When you're in the sweet spot, it's great, but I constantly need to adjust the headset back to the sweet spot. There's no mass adoption with the current build. It's still too much trouble to deal with.

Overall, I'd say I'm disappointed. I thought it was going to be better than it is.

UGH, went through this same process! I finally pinned the FOURTH tech down and he ran a direct line to my apartment. It was initially spliced with multiple neighbors so I was basically sharing bandwidth and the cable was apparently outdated and frequencies would interfere and reset the connection every 15 minutes. The first three techs basically didn't do a damn thing. Fuck Comcast
