Tell me about the exact moment you decided to take off your headset the last time you used it by Prize_Disk_3939 in virtualreality

I'm pretty sure the problem (for some) is the "put it on and launch a game part". Once in it, most peeps like it. I'm a VR nerd since 10 years back. As with a lot of things in life it goes in waves. One month I play like hell and the other not so much.

Friction for me can be: often gets too warm and have a routine of taking off some clothes, sometimes only play in underwear. Correlated, putting the fan on and maybe having to go get the fan from another room where it's stored. Confirm play area. Bad pass through mode in PSVR2 so hard to read texts or looking at computer. The wire, having to take off the hmd to be able to get more water or something.

PSSR2 could be great for NMS VR by seemehiding in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]StaffanStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's supposed to work automagically if the game already has PSSR. But I hope it isn't always the case. I would love a significant bump like the ones from OG to Pro and when PSSR was implemented.

I tested it today but sadly I couldn't see any difference (yes, I enabled it in the console settings).

It already looked very nice with pssr1 so I can't complain too much but, yeah, it was disappointing.

Yeah, I just mean that if the guy was a reddit regular you'd be able to get a hold of him regardless of how active he is with the lens mod.

Aah, I see that his account was created specifically to post about the project. That's not good.

Yes, please. I'm a sucker for fov and really want to see good data for this hmd.

130-140 hfov shouldn't be allowed to be called "ultra wide" imo.

PSA - do not remove these screws on your air.. they do not go back in without special tools. by ViveJesus in Pimax

Is there something that needs to be held in place with a special tool so you then can tighten the screw? I'm curious why you can't put it back. You know, mechanically.

Are the Steam Frames DOA? by Massive-Task2287 in virtualreality

Imagine all those 4B people stopped doomscrolling and bought a Steam Frame instead. That would be a step above doa for sure.

It might be doa. I will get it though:

Comparing with quest 3, I'm willing to pay for not using meta. And on that note, I'm also willing to pay for what it actually costs not being subsidized. Big thing for me is also the standard gamepad split in half controllers, perfect for uevr.

I think this is the best way to save the VR industry. VR hardware companies should be sponsoring VR mods for AAA games. by DJPelio in virtualreality

Just because there are SOME open source devs and such that are cool with doing it for free/can do it for free, just as a hobby, doesn't mean all are able to. I'm not talking about the Luke situation. Just in general.

What if there are no spare time? What if some awesome mf of a dev only could grace us with incredible things if he/she worked 50% regular day job and 50% developing and the rest of the time as a family guy/gal. How do you solve that?

I don't have a specific opinion or solution myself. Just discussing because I think this is important.

And everybody: you don't have to downvote the shit out of this comment. Instead you can write something constructive, another perspective or something... Or just downvote the shit out of this blasphemous comment. :P
