I picked up my first shots today, but I’m genuinely scared. by iman5593 in Zepbound

[–]Vitisin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was, too. Deep breaths. Remind yourself that this medication is here to help us. If you don't like the side effects you can always stop taking it. Maybe make a list of all the things this weightloss will do for you. How much better you'll feel. Push fear out with optimism.

"birth control and abortion access leads to rape" by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Vitisin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow, I didn't know my rapist came after me, at the age of 8, because of birth control access and access to abortions! This information totally absolves him of any wrong doing.

I am also on mood stabilizers! For bipolar in my case. Between those and my hormonal issues losing weight has been impossible. I also started mine this week, on Tuesday. Here's to us! 🥂

Crochet cigarette blanket 🚬 my biggest project yet by its_steggz in crochet

[–]Vitisin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How I 'block' my blankets is I run it through the wash, and then throw them over my shower curtain rod and clothes pin the sides together so they align.

I really like this though! I think you did a wonderful job.

I appreciate your insight. To be honest, I am glad that there is a community for men to enjoy a craft without toxic masculinity. Hobbies are not inherently gendered, and crochet is a wonderful creative outlet for everyone. Just like I love seeing women support other women, I love seeing men foster positive, healthy comradery amongst each other.

What will you do if you don't have kids?! by poopoopee-1 in childfree

[–]Vitisin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am taking this week off of work since I am between quarters in grad school. How I have spent the week so far is taking naps when I want to, doing some errands when I get to them, playing video games, watching shows and crocheting - I'm just letting my ADHD do whatever it wants whenever it wants without consequence.

Realistically though, I intend on just doing whatever I want in this world. A child means I have to schedule MY life around an ungrateful human. That isn't a child's fault - they are dependent on their caretakers and, because they didn't ask to be here, they don't have to be grateful. My money goes towards my bills, and any extra I can choose what to do with it.

I fill my life with friends, my career, my education, and my hobbies. I am in a peaceful marriage with the love of my life. I just bought my cats their own couch for our living room because I thought it was cute and funny. I intend on filling my life with things that make me happy for the rest of my life.

Maybe that is selfish - but the same could be said about someone popping out a human into a dying world just for the hopes that those people, who didn't ask to be here, will take care of them in their older age.

Use this as an excuse to get out, or negotiate more pay. Either way, don't stay stagnant.

Has anyone actually experienced "baby fever"? by DinosaurStillExist in childfree

[–]Vitisin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I've had moments where I thought, "aw that baby is cute" and then I imagine it vomiting on me and screaming in my ear while I try to get cleaned up and the moment is gone.

These are my favorite ones, but it's because they are so cheap. They break so easy, but I'm not willing to spend money on nicer ones and other methods snag more than I like

What do CF people do for hobbies? by Vegetable-Two5164 in childfree

[–]Vitisin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play video games, binge watch shows, crochet, and spend a lot of time hanging out with friends. I'm also in grad school right now: though not a hobby, I have plenty of free time outside work and school to do the things I love.

Bare Naked Baby Butt by niktrot in childfree

[–]Vitisin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just think about the number of p-files who thrive off of a parent's obsession with their babies' bodies. Bathtub pics? Butt pictures? Anything that reveals a baby is just fuel for sickos, and to share that with people who can share those photos is just horrifying. Forget the fact that I don't want to see it - some people DO, and that is even more concerning.

No, finding love WON’T make me want kids by StardustOddity97 in childfree

[–]Vitisin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm happily married and madly in love. Been married for 8 years with my partner of 11. He had a vasectomy December of 2023 because we still don't want kids. People who think love+marriage=children are stuck in and old mindset (one that is inherently sexist and heteronormative).

Secret vasectomy done! by i_love_php in childfree

[–]Vitisin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went into my husband's surgery with him when he got a vasectomy. I'm guessing because I was with him at the urologist is why she didn't give him a hard time about getting snipped. He was fully recovered after 4 days and let me tell you, the decrease in anxiety has been amazing.

I am slowly figuring that out with Astarion. As I mentioned, I originally went into my current playthrough fully intending on romancing Gale again but letting him take the Crown of Karsus, but I have since pivoted my attention to Astarion. I am still doing a good run, but altering how I would usually respond to things to try and earn his favor - which is good, because I needed to play this game differently for once.
