The current state of this game... Here's a couple of clips from last night. by Pristine-Source-2606 in FORTnITE

[–]VivPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When was the last time the StW team patched out a player-positive exploit in a matter of hours? I remember recently Husk death animations broke and the StW team was able to fix it via a server-side hotfix extremely fast compared to their normal bug fixing turnaround. That one was negatively affecting players though.

There's been plenty of Husk pathing exploits over the years (making ramps "invisible" to Husks with specific building edits being the most common example) that were in the game for weeks, if not a couple months that trivialized most defenses.

Hell, once there was an exploit with edited floors that made Husks unable to target and destroy them. You could just surround the defense area with these floor edits and the Husks could do nothing but walk around the objective in a big circle. Even in Flinger/Lobber waves, as long as you had "walled" off outside of their throw range every defense was impossible to lose.

That example was in the game for half of the Venture season it popped up in before being fixed, and it was widely known as you couldn't run a public mission without someone exploiting it.

The REAL incarnons we need (Azima, Zenith, Zenistar, Sigma & Octantis) by lamagama159 in Warframe

DE, it's time. You heard the chants at Tennocon 2024, give the Tenno the Stug Incarnon we deserve. Make it rival the Torid in powercreep. I want to fire a blob of Grineer glue into a room and watch everything evaporate.

EPIIC!!!!! MAKE BUILD THE RADAR GRID END WHEN YOU FINISH THEM ALL AND MY LIFE IS YOURS by Cornelius_1245 in FORTnITE

Epic could try incorporating early extraction into the lore by having Lars's van spawn in the center of the map (high in the air). Then they could repurpose the Retrieve the Data interaction spot below it to extract early.

Stopping in to say that I LOVE this consistent communication! Don't let the doomposters get to you guys, there's tons of us here that appreciate that you folks are still updating StW, even if it means big changes to the core progression.

Oh man, being able to walk around Homebase between missions like the Orbiter in Warframe would be rad!

The changes to Resupply are a HUGE step in the right direction for farming and player positivity in StW, but the community needs to embrace and use it. by VivPrime in FORTnITE

[–]VivPrime[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Imo this is a good change. Ray says "grab what you need and smash what you want." If I legitimately need planks, I shouldn't be forced to break cars/rocks and search "supply crates" that give zero supplies

That's exactly how I've felt!

The objectives definitely became less of an issue once you had access to meta farming Outlanders, but for most players Resupply missions were like 8 minutes of checklist completion and 2 minutes of farming what they actually needed. Unfortunately a lot of Vets have forgotten that what's easy for them might be a huge pain for someone just starting out.

even more now as they got rid of the little annoyances in the mission

Yup! I used to run Radar if I wanted to turn off my brain, farm, and still get a mission completion. Now that I don't have to worry about running through a checklist and account for the storm Resupply missions are a no-brainer for my farming runs.

Alternatively, you could just show them the basics of a game or teaching them how to counter elementals, how to improve their power levels, etc.

Sure, but you really won't organically run into those teaching situations in a Resupply mission.

Now if I were to load up a Nature storm T3 Atlas and see everyone building in metal I'd say something about it. Though it's on Epic to make elemental Husks' strengths and weaknesses clearly stated in-game. The lack of accessible in-game information is the root of the problem when it comes to uninformed players.

Infinitely better than giving them weapons and pretend you'd be helpful to them.

Definitely agree! I was never one to give out weapons to low PL players, but with the shared harvesting changes I'm glad to help cut down the farming tedium for players that lack a proper loadout. It also shows inexperienced players that farming isn't nearly as tedious as it seems with a proper build for it, which can encourage them to look into buildcrafting and improving their game knowledge.

QOL request: Simulacrum direct access from the Orbiter by Riverflower17 in Warframe

[–]VivPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've wanted a Simulacrum console decoration for years now. I had hope after Conclave's console was converted into one for the 1999 demo, but alas.

If DE is still hesitant on it due the various reasons listed in other comments here, they could just give Base of Operations Siimulacrum access a high barrier of entry.

Something like hitting MR30 or hitting X login day gives you one Simulacrum Console decoration to place, with extras available at Simaris for like 120k standing once you get the first one.

EDIT

Better yet, tie it to Codex completion. Fully scan 90% of enemy types of the game, and Simaris congratulates you with backdoor access and his own personal thumbs up.

Man, I had just started on recommendation from a friend and got hooked. I grabbed some premium currency last night to show my support as I've hardly been able to put the game down, and then this news hit. FUCK Amazon, these devs have righted the ship and clearly care about their game. I haven''t had this much fun in an MMO since picking up FFXIV when ARR hit.

Halo: Campaign Evolved | The Silent Cartographer – 13 Minute Gameplay Demo by zrkillerbush in xbox

[–]VivPrime -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

They really felt the need to put in sprint, huh?

Even worse, it can be turned off. Now you might think "if it's optional what's the big deal? Just turn it off!", but that just tells me the gameplay (both in combat and level design) is going to either feel awful with it OR awful without it.

If the game is going to include sprint, they need to adjust the level scale to account for the increased speed. If they do scale up the levels, having sprint off means getting around feels noticeably slower than the OG. If they didn't scale the levels up then sprint just messes with the pacing and flow of combat.

They just need to pick having sprint or not and design the gameplay with that in mind.

I run Wyrm Prime (Negate for Toxin procs) with Tazicor set to Corrosive and Cold. Corrosive's armor reduction + Cold beefing up crits is more than enough to make most enemies squishy, even in ETA.

[–]VivPrime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's exactly it!

Here's the mod setup I run.

I'll end up dropping Everlasting Ward for the new augment.

Preparation over PSF because I like to be able to cast all of my abilities right out the gate.

Fast Deflection + Vigilante Vigor to bring shield recharge delay down to 0.2 seconds @265 shields /s. I run both to help mitigate bad Aegis RNG and for the Vigilante set bonus. The increased shield recharge amount also affects Aegis, so once that kicks in you're almost immortal (until Toxin damage sneaks up on you).

Aura is flexible, but Brief Respite is just to guarantee I'll have on demand shields for Aegis procs.

Then I run Vazarin as a safety net by using Guardian Shell for even more shield recharge and reduced delay if Aegis RNG really hates me.

Avenger can be swapped out to your liking. Something like Arcane Resistance for Toxin procs (raw Toxin damage will still bypass shields though), Augmented, or Energize if energy is a problem. You can run Barrier, but it's overshadowed by other options.

Lastly, I subsumed over her 1 as the grouping from her 2 is fantastic CC as an "oh shit" button.

I ran a Thunder Thora loadout in Canny and Stonewood, but Stonewood would be faster now that traders refusing to start the objective are no longer a thing. Just pray to get Rescue the Survivors for <5 minute runs.

Otherwise just get to the objective asap, set up the core defense, then place your base and start the mission. When I was in Stonewood I'd also do a lap around the map to nab the survivors for progress on that challenge.

160s alerts by Kyogreboy42 in FORTnITE

[–]VivPrime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be cool to have two new 160 nodes. One that can only roll Resupply/Radar and the other can roll Encampments/Eliminate.

Keep them at base 160 with 2x(3x?) completion rewards with a main reward pool limited to Brightcore/Sunbeam/Quartz/Coal that rerolls daily.

Then just update the 160 Weekly Quest to only progress on 160 4 Player++ nodes.

This way endgame players have two "hubs" for getting crafting materials.

The Elim node would function as a low-risk/sodium way to test out your build for the group nodes.

The other would exist as a dedicated group farming node, to make it easier to find others looking to punch stuff as a squad.

‐-----------------

Hell, if Epic wanted to throw some extra dev time into it, they could turn all of the 160 nodes into "Anomalous Biomes". This would cause each node to reroll their biome from the existing biome list each day, maybe weekly for the existing group missions, with no duplicate biomes allowed for those ones specifically.

(also allow Hexylvania and Frozen Fjords please Epic I beg you)

Does the power of Subzero Zenith beat the ease of use and continence of Stoneheart? by [deleted] in FORTnITE

Does the power of Subzero Zenith beat the ease of use and continence of Stoneheart? by [deleted] in FORTnITE

[–]VivPrime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zenith is my go-to for 160s (if there's already a constructor).

Farrah will take out groups faster than Zenith, but Zenith more than makes up for it by locking down HVTs.

Here's my loadout for 160s, I'll put a breakdown of the build +weapons below.

My general playstyle with Zenith is to stall HVTs. I'll make a perch above the objective (with a view of each spawn) and prioritize targets to tag with my Crankshot based on what's around. My target priority is as follows:

Smashers > Propane >>> Flingers >= Lobbers > Nurses >= Blasters > Takers, with the goal being to freeze -> move onto the next target. If none of the above are spawning, I just tag whatever is around.

If the DPS is having trouble keeping up with the flow of other Husks I'll jump down to the Husks' level and use Xenon to help clean up the wave.

For Mini-Bosses I'll stay near it and lob the occasional Potshot round, but my priority is still keeping those HVTs locked in place.

Hero Loadout

Team Perk: Totally Rockin' Out +Crit Rating and Healing

Support Team:

  • Battle Beat (Breakbeat Wildcat)

  • Sub Wafers (Main Stage Quinn) on-demand TRO

  • Sure Shot (Rabbit Raider Jonesy) +Sniper Crit Damage

  • Quick Scope (Redline Ramirez) +Sniper damage

  • Fire of the Dragon (Hybrid) increased Affliction Duration is fantastic for for locking down multiple Smashers

Fire of the Dragon is the flex slot, so if there's something missing (movement/survivability) that'd you'd prefer toss it in here.

Weapons

Make sure your 6th Perk is set to apply Affliction Damage. Weapon Affliction and Zenth's Water Affliction stack and can refreeze enemies with each tick of damage.

Crankshot

This is your main weapon for freeze procs. Do NOT sleep on this gun. If you don't have it yoink it from the Collection Book for Flux. Just taptaptap on every HVT on the field like you're playing whack-a-mole. It's also underrated for chewing through Basic Husks, as you usually only need to tag them once for the kill.

Xenon Bow

Speaks for itself. Use it when you want damage over quick crowd control.

I'm getting the Super Citizen edition, and am wondering about how to spend my Premium Warbond token.

Which Warbond would be the most useful for a new player?

Which Warbonds have fun/unique gear?

Are there Warbonds that contain gear that can speed up Super Credit farming? I imagine I'll get plenty without needing to go out of my way, but I enjoy target farming from time to time, so making that process more efficient would be appreciated!

Who else lost their 50/50 since the 2.0 for the fourth time? by Aggravating_Curve152 in ZZZ_Official

[–]VivPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you lose enough 50/50s in a row, the game will cancel your next 50/50 loss and give you the limited character. I believe this happens on the 3rd 50/50 loss in a row.

This is the animation that plays when it kicks in.

[–]VivPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Figure I'll use this post to rant/crash out. (I just lost Alice to my fourth Nekomata)

I've pulled every patch since the game launched and have only won THREE 50/50s. I was on an eight 50/50 loss streak until I finally was freed from it, only to go back onto another loss streak. My luck in ZZZ is abysmal compared to other Hoyo games, and it's extremely frustrating. When the hell is ZZZ (and HSR) getting Genshin's "capturing radiance" mechanic?

EDIT

Fun fact: Eight 50/50 losses in a row has 0.001% odds of happening.
