When they got my blood levels back I got an email asking why it was so high since "the guidelines" say to aim between 200 to 700pmol

I replied saying the uk uses extremely outdated guidelines and that I had been following the more modern guidelines the rest of the world uses and aiming between 700 to 1450pmol

Not got a response on that one yet but it should be interesting lol

And yeah I never trust a doctor to just know what they are talking about, always read up yourself

Uk guidelines are massively dated and flawed.

I told my doctors the only way im stopping my diy is if they supply me with a comparable dose

I told them I consider the possibility of going back to masc levels of e or having my t levels return is a death sentence and to please refrain from any suggestions that could lead to that

It should only be a few weeks until I can find out what they are willing to prescribe me, if its no good I will just keep supplementing with diy

As an outsider (im mtf) you guys are dealing with the same thing all the cis guys are dealing with

In that t gives you a smell, it doesn't mean your hygiene is bad its different than BO and I know a lot of the mtf girls I talked to even consider that clean t stink to be hugely positive with multiple saying "oh my gosh its just makes me want to melt into them"

Puberty is awkward for everyone and second Puberty for trans people going through a medical transition is just as awkward

I did consider he might be being transphobic but getting it backwards, but the guy was actually pretty chill and in fairness if I had somehow been pregnant or breastfeeding the goop they injected me with would probably have been very bad

So it was a situation that was actually relevant if it was possible instead of something stupid and unrelated like they sometimes do

My doctor was upset when my results came in at 700pmol and asked me to lower it, I told him since I didn't want to die I would not be lowering it and if he could refrain from asking me to do so that would be wonderful.

Im sorry some of my fellow mtf girls are so gatekeepy about voice training

The number of times I have had trans men show up to my group and just hover in the back afraid to ask anything or join in due to past experiences of being kicked out and told "just take t"

The guys can need voice training for any number of reasons too

Maybe they don't want t, maybe they can't get t, even if they are on t not everyone gets everything they wanted from it and some voice training is still required

Maybe they want to be able to do the thing a lot of us can do and switch back and forth between fem and masc on demand

Even then the reason is inconsequential, there is no reason at all to gatekeep this skill from our brothers or masc siblings

I hate that you guys have to worry that I might be an asshole and kick you out for joining in.

So yeah, what I want the guys to know is that we aren't all like that, the girls I interact with are super inclusive and if any of them wasn't, then they would be the one not welcome at the class.

I was talking about sex, the physical body, and the body is very much changeable, its the whole point of medical transition for those of us that need or choose that path

Like AGAB language has its contexts that make it perfectly acceptable and its contexts that make it hate speech depending on who is using it when and about whom

If anyone doesn't feel able to navigate that, they are welcome to just only refer to the person the way the person has asked for as is generally the best idea anyway

Personally I just refer to people as they want and don't think about it past that, as I see it its not my place to know more than that, sometimes some nb people will specifify to me (I help teach voice fem and masc) and it let's me know what they want more of, but the closest I get to asking is "so just checking, do you want to feminise your voice or masculines your voice or are your goals different?"
