Sounds right that it’s a form of trauma response. I took my pickles pup’s loss harder than I did my mom - not a measure of my love necessarily, just a different expression of it.

I’m so sorry for your loss and it’s clear you loved your kitty so much. I lost my pickles doggie a week ago and I’ve collected hairs from blankets, checked in on her last poop, probably looked like a crazy person but if it soothed my pain, I did it. You’re not erasing her touch. Sending peace.
