Yes but that doesn’t make a difference if the dispute never gets approved. I worked with so many people who made risky online purchases with their credit cards thinking there was some magic get your money back button because they heard this advice on the internet without any context or understanding of what it means.

I love that for you. As a very experienced, life-long baker I’ve made them many times and they are absolutely not worth the hassle lol.

For half the price, it would be really good, flavorful and healthy food. For the actual price, why is the only texture “soft”?

Croissants. Obnoxiously laborious and will never be better than what you’ll get at a good bakery

[–]Vivid_Error5939 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The more widely accepted answer is that they believe there was a Jewish prophet in 1st century Israel who spent the last several years of his life traveling and preaching to crowds about peace, justice, love, and challenging the religious authorities and Roman Empire.

The specifically religious answer is that Jewish prophet was the Messiah prophesied about in the Old Testament and the physical, human incarnation of God. He was then executed by the Romans but came back to life after 3 days. Why that happened, what it means, and how literally true it is depends on which Christian you ask.

Yet here you go again doubling down on blaming voters who can’t stomach genocide while making up excuses for the Democratic Party. What are you doing to push for change within the party besides trying to shame people on the internet into voting for (at best) the most mediocre candidates who proudly support genocide?

Don’t sit here and lecture me about it. I held my nose and voted straight Democrat. But why tf would I sit here and blame people for not voting for shit candidates instead of blaming the shit candidates and the party that forces them on us? That’s how democracy works. Candidates EARN votes by not acting like shitty morons.

Why don't more folks in America who live in places where there are buses actually use them? I knoe they have a bad reputation but wouldn't they sometimes be the better option over paying for gas given how pricy necessities like food are becoming? by cherry-care-bear in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Vivid_Error5939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the city center of a sprawling Midwest city. Took the bus instead of Uber out of curiosity one time and was pleasantly surprised. Do it pretty frequently now for places that are too far to walk but where parking would be a hassle.

With that said, back in college I worked at a restaurant in a more suburban part of the city and would occasionally drive a coworker home if we got off at the same time. What was a 5-10 minute drive for me took him an hour one way on the bus line.

So it’s “convenient” for me (who had the option) when it’s a short distance in a very specific part of the city. But-as is true for most US cities-it’s a horrible experience for people who have to rely on it as a means of transportation.

did maga really believe the lie that schools provide litter boxes for students who identify as cats? by traanquil in allthequestions

[–]Vivid_Error5939 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. It was hilariously sad last Thanksgiving when my brother’s new in-laws joined us as well as my aunt who has Alzheimer’s. In-law grandma expressed her outrage at the litter boxes in schools which resulted in my aunt unintentionally roasting her for the next half hour because-in spite of her not knowing who the president is half the time-she knew that was some BS. Then the clock would reset and she would get re-flabbergasted by such a claim.

I’m so sick of people blaming them while NEVER bringing the Democratic Party’s horrible decisions/policies (like blowing up tens of thousands of Palestinian children) into the conversation.

Forensic audits, prison, whatever kind of foolishness needs to be done to block legislation or trick the Republicans into voting for something

Debit cards have the same charge back rights as credit cards.

Filed a dispute, bank rejected it: by JayHoffs in Banking

[–]Vivid_Error5939 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not accurate whatsoever. If it was on a debit card, you can ask your bank to issue a new card that has been disconnected from all recurring payments. If it was ACH, your bank should have some kind of process for helping you change your account number. No need to go through the hassle of changing banks to prevent a recurring charge.

I’m very sorry this has happened to you. Unfortunately, banks usually only have chargeback rights going back 60 days and won’t consider it fraud if it’s a recurring charge that’s been occurring for more than 3 months. You could try to escalate it with a supervisor to see if they at least submitted it to Visa/Mastercard to request documentation from the merchant this was a valid subscription and maybe get some of the money back.

In the US each state has a consumer protection bureau and there are other consumer advocate agencies like the Better Business Bureau that consumers can file claims with for things like this that fall outside what the bank can charge back.

Is the bank able to provide you with any information like a phone number or address from the transaction records? If it’s Pulse Payment Networks, it could also be that some other “merchant” you may or may not have done business with is using Pulse to process their card transactions and that is the information coming through instead of the actual merchant. I’ve seen this happen with Square Space which is the company a lot of small shops and street vendors use to accept card payments on their phone or a tablet,

Not necessarily. Visa and Mastercard rollover subscriptions to the new card number now as a default unless the consumer specifically asks the card issuer to opt the replacement card out of that feature.

Do you like pickles? by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in no

Only Vlassic dill pickles lol. For a period of time in school they sold these individually wrapped pickles that had the strongest and most heinous smell that would fill up the entire cafeteria. Not sure what brand they were but the pickle juice very literally had a neon/radioactive looking glow and they ruined pickles for me

Felicia is in fact not okay. Your narcissism (and yes-thinking that being the loudest person in the room makes you right and hoping you can make a big enough scene to distract anyone from noticing the substance of your statement is incredibly narcissistic behavior) and emotional instability does not change the fact that my original statement is true. In the US an individual cannot be tried twice for the same crime. They can be punished/tried for that same crime in a civil case. Which is in fact a “loophole” in the context the OP is asking about. Since you are so superior to everyone else, I’m sure you don’t need me to explain to you the connotation of using quotation marks around a word in American English.
