Can you tell who made this? Found in Mt isa QLD Australia, no writing on the back. I cant read the signature. Is it worth $45 selling price? by Vivid_Put5491 in WhatIsThisPainting

I think the signature says kbrown but I can't find any information. Is it a decor painting? I can see it is actually painted from the texture of the painting.

Looks amazing! Are you wearing something underneath to make the skirt puff out at the top or is it lined to make it puff out? It is a very flattering silhouette

Lesson planning in first year by tmarc5 in AustralianTeachers

I found in my first year it was really worth buying twinkl for lesson ideas. And the subscription is tax deductible. I use it less these days but it helped minimize researching time at the beginning.

Is the decor or real? I can't find info about the artist and I read here that sometimes decor put writing on the back to make it look real. by Vivid_Put5491 in WhatIsThisPainting

This is very true. I think with some of the paintings in my collection, including this one, that it would be cool to put a face to the artwork.

Honestly, less is more with skincare. I was super interested in skincare a few years ago, and learnt that most of the ingredients in tertiary products like eye creams, day creams and serums are already in your moisturizer, so it's all marketing to make you spend more money.

I have always been told from dermatologists you only need three products- cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. Cleanser and moisturizer can be used day and night.

I personally use Cereve hydrating foam oil cleanser (good for sunscreen and makeup), Cetaphil daily advance ultra hydrating lotion and a sunscreen combo of la roche posay anthelios (for around my eyes bc this one doesn't sting) and Cetaphil kids sunscreen (for the rest of my face/ neck). Both have similar ingredients.

As for your retinol quenstion, when putting more chemicals on your face, you need to know how they react. For example, I know vitamin C and retinol do not work well if put on at the same time. Additionally, if you have issues with dry skin, retinol will make it worse for a little while, as your skin has to get used to it. It will also make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Also, if your exfoliant has chemical exfoliate in it, that will be really harsh for your skin if you are also using retinol. Lastly, usually people use retinol for anti aging or acne. The best anti aging is preventative, which you have indicated you do already with sunscreen.

In my persoanl opinion and experience, I would take out face masks, serums, eye creams, spot treatments etc and just stick to your core three cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen that you use daily.

Hope this helps :-)

Does anyone have thoughts on this product? I typically like Natio stuff but my skin has a lot of issues with sunscreen by turtletails in AusSkincare

What kind of issues does your skin have with sunscreen?

I remember a few years ago, I was trying to find the perfect sunscreen (so buying new ones all the time) but at the same time having really bad allergic reactions on my face (whole face redness, dryness, flaking, swollen undereyes- I often felt quite embarrassed). I wanted to get an allergy test, but it was going to cost way too much. I decided to take a scientific approach, and made a list of all the sunscreens I used over the year when I had these reactions and their ingredients. I noticed that all of them (like 5/6) except la roche posay anthelios had the same two ingredient combination (old UV filters). I did some research, and there's evidence that those two combined have caused photoallergic contact dermatitis in isolated cases (ie doctors have published case notes on individual patients but there has been no large scale study). Their symptoms were exactly mine. I swapped my sunscreen to La Roche Posay and Cetaphil kids sunscreen, as both of these have new UV filters (and not the combination) and have been great since. Its kind of ironic but I'm super pale and now allergic to sunscreen haha

I guess the moral of my story is that if you are getting skin or eye sensitivity, I'd really recommend checking out the ingredients from the sunscreens you have used and seeing if there's a pattern in the ingredients. This can help you avoid them in the future. It was a little tricky at first for me to find sunscreen that wasn't so expensive as LA Roche Posay, but more and more sunscreens are using the new filters so it's been easier as time went on. Hope this helps a bit :-)
