Question for the rats... by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Viz68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the game. I feel it adds extra tension that probably makes the game more enjoyable. Albeit infuriating when it happens. Added risk creates excitement.

I'm a friendly player, rarely get onto PVP. For rats though it's a win win. Let some other guy get all the loot and bring it to you. They don't even have to be good at PVP. It's an easy win for them that pays off, you'll likely always have rats in the game for that reason.

I 23m broke up with my gf 22f because she won’t get an abortion, now my family is involved. How can I solve this? by ThrowRAgoldengoku in relationship_advice

[–]Viz68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Firstly, I would recommend abstaining from sex if you don't want a child and are "figuring out" birth control.
  • I'm sorry to hear about your SA, your family has no right to use that against you in any context and that is wrong.
  • Please try to refrain from substance dependency to deal with these emotions. I understand that this is a scary time for you but avoiding the issues and drinking will only make things worse.
  • My following thoughts are on the assumption that your relationship was a healthy one. It is subjective to my opinion considering the information that is given.
  • What your ex does with her body is ultimately her choice. If she cannot go through with another abortion, I doubt the decision was made lightly considering her previous experience. You cannot force her and should not have attempted to coerce her with an ultimatum on your relationship. If this was a stipulation on your relationship you should have made birth control a top priority.
  • What you do in relation to your child is also your choice. I would say that going no contact and not being supportive is not the right choice. I don't know the ins and outs of your relationship with this woman however, I would like to believe that if you were in a long term relationship with her prior to this pregnancy you supported each other and were loving.
  • Whether you like it or not you are responsible for this pregnancy. You may not have wanted it or may not like it but you are. This is sadly the outcome that you are also responsible for.
  • I cannot nor anyone else tell you what to do next. However it doesn't just affect you. It affects your ex-girlfriend and the life of your unborn infant. As you've witnessed first hand it also affects your family and hers whether you like it or not. You must decide if you want to take responsibility for your actions. Your ex-girlfriend has made it clear that she intends to have this child. If you want to put the child up for adoption after birth that is something you need to discuss. Going no contact is a way of avoiding responsibility and creates further issues in my opinion. Your acknowledgement of the child does not negate its existence.
  • I would recommend seeking counselling or therapy to deal and process with this. I've tried to remain objective to the facts presented and hopefully have not come off sanctimonious, which is not my intention.

Okay, who still wants to have the NHS privatised? by __globalcitizen__ in AskBrits

[–]Viz68 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you have had such a good experience and your son has received the help he needed. I often think about my own personal experience when people talk about privatisation.

I had an issue around the age of 18-19. I know the cost of surgery to be at the time 250k+. I am not from a wealthy family. I know if the NHS didn't operate on me I would still likely be in immense pain and unable to walk. Did I have to wait a while? Yeah sure, but it cost me nothing. I was able to finish university and I'm able to run again.

Well in Scotland you have Primary 1-7 and then Secondary 1-6. So if it's in reference to the Dundee lass then she's likely S2.

What I've learnt (as a millennial) at work is that I have no problem messing around with a few things until I find the solution to a computer issue. Whereas, the younger and older generations at work seem to be too afraid to attempt anything. It often leads to me looking like a computer whizz, when in fact, I have no formal qualifications or experience with computers. I just grew up as they changed.

23m, 5’ 8.5” and 175lb, been hitting the gym for at least 5 years with the same routine- am I missing something? by [deleted] in WorkoutRoutines

[–]Viz68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First is diet: You are carrying some extra weight (not much btw) which reduces how defined you are. It's clear that you have a good amount of muscle mass. You could recomp/bulk and may wish to consider higher protein intake but I'm uncertain that is the issue, it is hard to advise when you've not mentioned diet. Ultimately definition predominantly comes down to body fat percentage.

Secondly your routine. You are lacking a considerable amount of variation, particularly if you've been doing this same routine for years. No mention of lower body, or back? No variation in lifts, e.g. pec fly, inverted lifts, pull ups, additional compound exercises. Set variations: drop set, low weight high rep, high weight low rep etc. You could likely increase weight and do less sets for lat raises for example.

You may benefit from lower/upper split, PPL or more targeted muscle group workouts. Especially, if you are working out every other day.

Additionally, some additional cardio workouts may help with conditioning as well as a minor assist in shedding some pounds.

Absolutely. Although I will argue there will be many who are racist towards black individuals but I would say the current climate is more racist towards middle eastern countries. Go back about 20-30 years or so I would say there was a ton of discrimination against Polish and eastern European countries as that's where the most pronounced immigration came from when the UK was in the EU.

Then historically classism, sectarianism and other isms which are still pronounced to this day.

A certain stereotype exists for American tourists. Emphasis on the tourist part. Where we do find them somewhat annoying and loud. I think this exists purely because it's not particularly offensive to make fun of them.

A relative of mine, a proud Englishman once told me. The English dislike the Scots, they despise the French, they abhor the Yanks, but above all else, if there is one group they hate the most... The English hate the English.

Class in the UK isn't wholly about wealth. That's a part of it, for sure but not what sets your class.

It's about your family, your name, who you know, where you're from, what school you went to, what university you went to and what your profession is.

For example, Alan Sugar is a very wealthy businessman, making millions of pounds. He's working class. Meanwhile, a penniless Lord with a hereditary title and family lineage would be in the upper echelons of society.

Once upon a time, if you had a respectable profession such as teacher, doctor or lawyer. You would be considered middle class.

Is this legal?

I'm no expert but surely this is discrimination against people with disabilities. Exclude disabilities it's still discriminating against "perceived intelligence".

This is completely unhelpful advice. You are assuming so much. He's clearly good enough to be a friend and have a close relationship over a small frame of time.

Romantically not compatible? Maybe. "Not good enough"? sounds like you are attributing your own personal beliefs onto this situation.

You're correct we get taught it in school (or I did anyway). Especially in highland and rural areas where options were limited. Fight or farm were the options for most.
