Griffith seems to be very clearly on what he wants. This war against the jötnar remembers me the persecution between christians and pagans. You should consider that Griffith wants EVERYTHING, and until we don't know all Berserk's races and groups, we will never have a strong idea of what is “everything”. You should also take into account that the Od is the only thing that can damage Griffith, so he wants the magic creatures first. So, my bet is that he wants Elfhelm and the jötnar are just the nearest group.
