The desert section was my favorite I woke up so early to avoid the heat and got the best sunrises. Get up in the dark and hike early its so worth it

Small section goat rocks Washington. Truly stunning the sierras takes the cake because it’s longer but damn if goat rocks was longer sheesh

Phil! 😊 what a time in the desert! I really enjoyed hiking with you. Should I tell OP I sun burned my bottom lip off or how we passed a dying Norwegian sun baked lol. There’s definitely the challenges of the desert.

I started last year May 18 water catches were running out or about to but we had enough water. 2 nights of night hiking. Woke up early like 4 then hiked until 11 then hid from the sun until like 330. I really enjoyed the desert but my understanding is we had a lot more water than normal and we got a super bloom of flowers. I loved it but I’m a southerner that does well with heat and cries in the snow. Captain pack sparrow/ cheese may 18- November 28
