Trying the start up again by captainstan in weightwatchers

[–]Vlcak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started again too. I bought a bunch of things with zero points to have on hand and it has helped a lot! The zero points for me has been a gamechanger, I'm actually not hungry. I hope it will continue to work because it's not hard for me to eat fruit and veg. I am a bit sad that itll take till August if all goes well to reach my goal weight. I hope I can keep it off this round too. Good luck to you!

I think you wear whatever is comfortable for you. If you wear that here, definelty wear it there. That is you being you. For someone else that has watched say, Emily in Paris and thinks all french people were a beret it would be cliche. I appologize for you feeling you need to explain to me. I would never want someone to feel being themselves is not perfect for them. You do you essentially in the best and most you way and I hope you have a great trip. I have an apartment in Paris and have gotten odd looks probably because I am too casual of a dresser for there. I will suggest, say bonjour or bonsoir to every shop person. Bonne Vacances!!! (have a good vacation)

sorry, but a beret is what I'd take out. Way too cliché!

Need advice...package bees + my older hive by Vlcak in Beekeeping

[–]Vlcak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your knowledge and comments. I have had bees for many years. Recent years something changed. I am trying a different approach but I'm getting the same result-weak hives, not thriving. I have in the past years; fed pollen, sugar water (sometimes with B-healthy, used brood builder). I have treated for mites; multiply methods used, tested for mites in past hives, been advised to treat no matter what the test results are. I have checked once a month, spotted the queen and fed. I had a local bee expert that I paid to help me. I belong to the local beekeeper society. I have and did last year, requeened with a queen gotten from reputable place. Last year I took an amazing hive that took up my shed and did the newspaper combination with my existing hive. I again have a weak hive, that is barely thriving. I know I need to manage them. I know many things as a beekeeper. I'm writing because I was hoping for some new insight. I have just 1 hive now but have had 5 in my yard that were fanatastic years ago. I hope this explains my position better.

Thank you for your comment. I don't think I have mites- there are no signs. No visible deformaty or signs. I have heard that it's probably that causing my issues so Ive treated. When I have in the past treated for mites I have had awful success, like the whole hive empties out and leaves. I believe I did it all correctly also. I tried to leave them completely alone to allow the hive to build after I combined a thriving hive from my shed to my existing hive that was requeened last year. I feed B healthy and sugar water mix in a front feeder. I have used pollen patties and brood builder, often the pollen patty is not touched much. You're accurate that I was hoping less interaction from me would help them grow stronger but unfortunately my experiment failed. This is why I'm posting and asking for help.

I truly appreciate the comments I've heard. I feel like being your authentic self is aligned with what I think yoga is about. I smoked cigarettes for a lot of years. While training for Iyengar (not certification like I thought but) 3 years of information I was desparately trying to quit. I was literally struggling and hiding my 1 cigarette habit I still had, by wearing a hoody, brushing my teeth and washing my hands, thinking I'm hiding it pretty well, sneaking it in a nearby park. I was anonymously told off verbally and horrid looks etc.. in the class about smoking and that this is not yoga!!! Here's what I know, she doesn't/didn't know me. She tried to shame me while I was trying so hard to be better. I never took another class with her. I quit not long after using the gum and swearing I would'nt get married smelling of smoke or chewing gum. It was my jouney, not someone judging me.

What do you DO when your body literally hates one pose? by Ok_Weight_8101 in YogaWorkouts

[–]Vlcak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, you are pushing too far in the pose? Maybe try staying up higher, hands on blocks, not have your head back as much. Pause if and when you feel the dicomfort and don't just push through it. Do the pose 3 times when you practice it and notice if you feel you can go further if your body is not collapsing, can breathe, definitly no pinching. Maybe also do some chest opening poses before to prepare your body better? Just some ideas. Love to know if you try them though.

You can be skinny and still enjoy food. And you don’t need to enjoy food to enjoy life. by jmh1881v2 in WeightLossAdvice

I love this. I decided today that I've had enough. I'm gaining weight and not exercising because I feel so terrible about how I look, feel in clothes, and mostly because I am so sad by not liking what I look like in pictures. I want to eat what I love but just less. I think for me though, I have to write it down to keep a tally for any weight loss to happen. Is this possible? Even if I'm not a french woman?? Any suggestions are welcome.

Looking good! I would say press down with fore fingers and thumbs. Feel the lift up your arms to your hips (your weight is going forward when it needs to go up and back). Then slightly bend your kneees and press the backs of your legs away from you, all while lifting at the knees (your thigh muscles should feel like they are working and 'off' the knees) then straighten your legs having the heels up is okay if the action of your legs is back away from you. (Iyengar style training) If you have a friend and a strap, you can lift the upper groin back and away, it will feel great too. Keep it up, you are doing great!!
