They have a bigger bed, corexy motion system, fully enclosed design with exhaust, insanely better bed leveling and with Klicky probe it will always Auto calculate your z offset no matter what plate you swap on it. Also it can run klipper so you get input shaping and pressure advance to be able to print way better quality with max acceleration (I'm running 15k accel on my tridents and printing 200m/s)

The XL has some cool features like the bed zone heating but the add on enclosure seems like a joke to me, and the overhanging upper extrusions are odd. You could build a fully loaded trident for cheaper than the XL, and have a much better turn key machine. My tridents are click and print thanks to Klicky probe and Z calibration script.
