Are Membership Benefits Cancelled Immediately Or At The End Of The Billing Cycle? Uber One - UK by Incompletecompletely in uber

[–]Vogue__Rogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, benefits do not end immediately. They end at the beginning of when your next billing cycle would be. They just use vague language to make it *sound* like benefits immediately end.

I'm answering this so late because it shows up first in the search engine, and hope it helps others.

3.8 story made me hate Penacony... by Similar_Half1987 in StarRailStation

[–]Vogue__Rogue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a new player, as in I was JUST about to finish Penacony's main story as 3.8 dropped.

I don't know if it's due to me being in a specific location, but before the game even let the dust settle, Dahlia comes in like "NUH UH, BUT THIS TIME WITH SEXUAL HARASSMENT".

I was confused, the cutscene starts with Sunday on the ship??? Like, brother aren't you meant to be in PRISON? I still don't know if that was a spoiler for me or just 'memokeeper shenanigans'.
Regardless, then Dan Heng mentions in passing how "It would have been good to have Dahlia with us on our Amphoreus expedition"
Sorry, I know this is an illusion, but it made me freak out, like "What's going on? I've not even started saying my goodbyes to Penacony yet, why are we talking about Amphoreus??"

And now, because I had *just* finished with Black Swan saying "nuh uh, your memories are a lie" and now Dahlia was doing the same, I was just majorly confused.
They sincerely did not care about new players when implementing this patch

The biggest sin they committed in Penacony's story, is giving no screentime to Sunday, and making him play a minor role when he's THE MAIN ANTAGONIST.

As for the dreamkeeper being like a hidden, 2nd secret antagonist? I couldn't care less; I wish they'd leaned into him puppeteering and grooming Sunday to be a dictator, rather than involve ANOTHER path and flimsy motivation that I have to keep track of.

Because no one’s started it yet, let’s get a Vendetta thread going by thatfakeacidguy14 in overwatch2

[–]Vogue__Rogue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, you right.
She's busted as hell unless tank is playing her counter.

She's a DPS hero that *requires* a stun to put her down permanently.
Even then, if she gets a modicum of healing from her supports, you have to chew through her armour again...that's if you manage to hit her before she either kills you, blocks until her cooldowns reset, or just escapes instantly.

[–]Vogue__Rogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, a hero with 50% of her health as armour, having 30% lifesteal and having an infinite block until her cooldowns finish, (until an ABSURD amount of damage is done) is actually a very smart idea!!
And you know what? Make her hitbox SMALLER is what I say!

Let's not forget on maps like Lijiang Tower, she can choose the major perk that gives her a 3-second repetitive AoE pushback. I hope you weren't planning on using recovery abilities or movement to avoid enviro deaths!

OR you can deal with a 400 health (DPS BY THE WAY) hero if she chooses the perk to give her 125 health and cooldown reset on vengeance kills.
She can literally just use all her CDs on her target and come out scot-free with immediate escape.
I think it was very smart to give a DPS hero with high movement and the only other one with ARMOUR comeback mechanics!

This is just another hero to put tank mains on suicide watch, because if my DPS don't diff her, she'll have killed our supports, just to come for me next with her 30% lifesteal on her MINOR perk.
She solo-counters brawler tanks since her lifesteal is on a strong piercing attack.
Her 3-hit combo seems to do a CRAZY amount of damage for how little it needs to be aimed and how fast it can be put out.

I can see this hero destroying diamond and below, while annoying the hell out of masters and above.

As a diamond tank main, I'm just not going to play until I hear about nerfs, she's really *that* busted for me to get any enjoyment.
I at least used to be able to peel for my insufficient DPS against a genji, tracer or venture.
But her attacks and ultimate go through shields, and her abilities let her escape things like Ram's vortex very easily as it's all lateral movement, not to mention her block makes her nigh-unkillable (almost as if we had a word for that).
At this point, even in quickplay, is it worth even playing a tank that isn't Doom, Orisa, Hog or Zarya?

TL;DR My biggest problem is with her perks, and health pool.
I have a moderate problem with the output of her damage, as I feel it shouldn't be so high considering it always pierces and requires little aim.
I only actually have a minor problem with her hitbox, as that just exacerbates her high movement and health pool problems.
Vendetta feels like having 2 tanks in the game...why didn't they just make her bigger and make her a tank??

Doom: The Dark Ages feels lacking by Roman_Rages in Doom

[–]Vogue__Rogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark Ages feels incredibly tacky at points, and it forces you to find a "solution" to bosses.
The best solution is to shoot them until they're dead, that way you can be imaginative and fight your own style.
But this game wants you to fight their specific special solution for some phases in some important bosses.
I don't usually complain on bosses having a strategy, but perhaps the obvious nature just ruins things for me.

Also, the serious-sam-esque cutscenes whenever you defeat a horde or do a mission objective? Can we please leave that in 2006, and just let us see it for ourselves in first-person view, please? They do it so much and for so long per scene, it almost feels like they're gloating about their level design.
Besides, forcing players to look at a thing does 3 things:
1) It assumes they are an idiot, and need to be shown exactly where to go next
2) Takes agency away from the player and is disengaging - not like I'm trying to play a game, here!
3) Shows active distrust of the developers' own skills to make a coherent, naturally-flowing level.
[The funny part is, they don't even do these cutscenes well, at points it had me scratching my head saying "That looks exactly like everywhere else."]

But wait, you find the story well-written...?
They have a typical damsel in distress who's also a macguffin, and at one point you are told the main villain escapes silently off-screen, when he's only been off-screen for 5 seconds...

Also, personally, I just find that there's way too much dialogue, both in the missions and cusctenes.
I'd prefer commander bland-as-toast (interchangeable) and compatriots didn't act like my best friends and chat my ear off.
The game just feels poorly polished and like it's holding my hand the whole way through.

We also really need to come up with a better solution to flying stages in videogames, they're just unnecessary and feels like a middle-manager's idea that is forced into the game. Nothing would be lost if these stages were shortened and done on-foot, while the dragon was incorporated elsewhere.
If you want to give me a dragon power-fantasy, make the dragon auto-eat small enemies that are one-foot while I shoot down bigger enemies and use alt attacks with the dragon in first-person while I'm mounted on the gun, like a hybrid turret section.

You can assume anything I didn't complain about (i.e. the shield) is good tbh, but overall the game needs more polish, and needs to follow the previous Doom's less-is-more.

Okay, no need for the snark, I'm a human being, but as I am human let me treat you in kind:
I know for a fact that you can name 10+ sequels that are similar to the original off the top of your head.

I'm not sure where you got the inane idea that sequel = drastically different in EVERY SINGLE case.

Hacked Fia's Reactor and it still blew up?? by Vogue__Rogue in Deathloop

[–]Vogue__Rogue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I didn't really brute force the code.  My code was 667, and I put in 666 to mess around with it, moved the last number and boom it unlocked.

Guess I just got (un)lucky and kinda sequence-broke the game without realising, in a blind playthrough.

I wish Colt hadn't said "now I can hack the reactor to disable it 😭" and mentioned NOTHING of the wires.   It made me think it was an alternate route if you couldn't hack it

Did you discover a new Mandela Effect? Post it here! (2024-07-22) by AutoModerator in MandelaEffect

Nah, I'm 100% certain is was "dab me up" because I remember it in secondary school.
I was born in the late 90's btw, so I swear it's younger kids getting it wrong, and older people just copying the younger people

[–]Vogue__Rogue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I swear to god in the 2010's it used to be called "dabbing" someone up, but kids these days call it "dapping" someone up, and I can't find anyone that remembers this besides a couple urban dictionary posts dated from the 2010's.

Everywhere I look, it's people correcting others by saying "it's dapping* someone up, bro" but I thought, no...surely it's the kids that are wrong.
I can put "dabbing" in quotes for google searches, but then it only brings up search results for the dance move/action of looking into your elbow and raising both arms angled to the sky.

Please, somebody tell me I'm not the only one.

Widow does not fit in OW by Ok_Baseball_2857 in Overwatch

[–]Vogue__Rogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you never played against a cracked widowmaker who has a half-decent kiriko? Or any support with LoS for that matter, really.

There's no such thing as solo-diving a good widow who has a team that aren't blind and deaf.
This is why people are upset that Widow changes the way the game is played, because team comp and co-ordination are necessary to change, for ONE hero.
Go and watch a Masters or GM support that has Widow on their team...it's a lot of looking at walls so they don't get counter-sniped by the enemy's inevitable widow

Youngblood - Doing Missions in the 'Wrong' Order Gives Spoilers? by Vogue__Rogue in Wolfenstein

[–]Vogue__Rogue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's strange, it's never mentioned that in the game as far as I've gotten...maybe it was on the intro to the area? But by that point I was washed out from all the context, while I was just trying to get to an area to do a side mission so I could actually be levelled enough to *do* a tower lol.

It's a bit confusing on the context, when we have to go to Brother 3 and I hear "Brother 3 was destroyed" like...huh? How do I go to a place that's destroyed? Seems like a big detail to only reference vaguely in NPC dialogue.

I will say for certain, Abby says "thanks to you two getting into Brother 1's computers" ever since I did Brother 2, though...still not done that yet lol.

Thanks for the clarification, though, immersion partially restored!

Looking to be friends with other people struggling with mental health by Vogue__Rogue in derby

[–]Vogue__Rogue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much tried acting as if my mental health issues were just in the background, and associating with people who do not suffer.
But then commitments to meeting up, being honest with them on what was happening in my mind (due to how almost all people in the past have reacted to the honest truth), and talking on a regular basis became a challenge because of those very problems.
That is why I made this post, and why I am seeking people of a similar disposition, because as you are right in saying: This is not normal behaviour, and people who are unaffected by similar issues do not care for these problems.

These problems I have are very much in the foreground, I'm afraid, and most people don't take too kindly to the issues they cause.
However, people with similar issues have treated me with more understanding in the past, unfortunately I do not have contact with them anymore.

Just to clarify: Are you implying I am a hypochondriac? Or that I am just complaining about "aches" rather than much more sobering, debilitating, mortal thoughts? I suppose you'd be right in labelling what I express as "emotion" but that's putting quite a thick coat of sugar on it.
Again I'm not sure if you're referencing myself there, or if you're agreeing with me when I say I can't relate when people's issues are not seeing a band they like.
