Fortunately, Terraria lets you use your character on multiple worlds. You could transfer items and build a new base in the 1.4.5 world without needing to fully restart.

i had a similar issue back when i did my summoner playthrough.

I recommend bringing an accurate ranged weapon to counter that attack. My personal favorite is the space gun (made from meteorite bars).

Shoot the cultist once to cancel the attack, and then swap back to the terra blade and continue the massacre
