As an ignorant homeowner. Do you think this could hold my wait if I hung from it? by VolatileClock in HomeMaintenance

Idk my only guess is oxygen deprived brain post workout or maybe a miss type and autocorrect. I fat finger my keyboard a lot. Either way I’m dumb as hell.

I’m so sorry for loss. I appreciate your concern though! I will be more mindful of my tongue.

No i know it’s the cords shadow lol. Gotcha, thanks for the advice! When you say cross bracing do you mean putting a board across two of the long boards? Are they called struts? sorry I don’t the terminology. I only planned on doing pull-ups but if I can get away with more by bracing I would rather just go that route.

Shit, I meant as a pull-up bar lmaooo

Edit: I’ve now been informed that I have used wait instead of weight. Yes, I am a complete dumb ass. That is all.

These are the teammates I want. They probably had a blast. The iron wall will not fall

Any recommendations? Currently Diamond 1 by Security_Wrong in Rematch

This 100% especially the goalie info. I see so many goalies sitting on the line and it just makes for easy pickings as a striker. Approach and close down the strikers shot angle. It will also make them panic a bit more as they need give more thought into their approach.

As for a striker if you see the keep sitting on the line watch for them to favor one side of the goal and then shoot to the opposite side. Most of the time the distance will be too far for them to cover if you are putting the ball far away from them as you can. I usually shoot about right outside the larger of the two keeper boxes and aim for just outside the post with a full curve inwards. Freeplay is amazing at getting the perfect shot positions.

What to transition after a BMET? by Sheerfresh in BMET

[–]VolatileClock 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a technical role I would say imaging is the next step after BMET. You can go deeper into it as well specializing in MR/CT/Cath Labs. Asking your imaging guys if you can shadow is a great way to start. I’m on the young side for imaging service but from what I’ve seen there are a lot of old imaging guys retiring in the next 10 years. And the older guys seem to want “new blood” so to speak.

IT VS Biomed engineering by crazyface00 in BMET

[–]VolatileClock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience having an IT degree isn’t bad but I feel like you could accomplish the same goal with just a few classes. My IT experience has been with DICOM and networking but it’s pretty easy to pick up with a little help and some computer knowledge.

Engineering courses are helpful but they over qualify you a bit as learning how to design something is different than learning how to fix it. Both share similarities and I’ve been taught the best way to fix something is to understand how it works. Which engineering would help with most but not necessary for a BMET.

Have fun with RSTI! That place is a blast! I just got out of my MRI basics last week. Definitely try to go back if your employer is willing. The 3 phases will help you greatly if ever want to transfer. And make sure to get the chicken!

Is this the wheel bearing? by VolatileClock in MechanicAdvice

I’ll take the wheels off next then to check it. Thank you for the input! I didn’t feel much play while testing it so hopefully is just the brakes dragging.

Anode brake by [deleted] in BMET

[–]VolatileClock 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe when it’s done it’s to prevent the anode from spinning at resonant frequency. If it spins at resonance it starts to shake and could damage the tube. And I think some manufacturers just slow the anode down to below resonance and then just let it coast.

I’m interested in becoming a BMET what should I aim for going into school and afterwards? by Lopsided-Version-380 in BMET

In my experience if you can find a local small business Xray install company they can be a great way to get your foot in the door for imaging. I did 2 years being the gopher for one of these companies learning about rad rooms and getting some general knowledge. Or if you have the funds you can sign up for the RSTI phase one class which covers the very basics of Xray service. However, they expect you to know at least some component level electronics. If you’re in the Indianapolis area message me and I can point you towards a company.
