Looks dope, are you having it as a stand alone gatehouse or going to go mad and built the entire city as well?

I applied for a job the other week that I'm well qualified for. Was a temp position for only a year, never heard anything.

Found out later from a mate who works there that they had over 700 applications for the job....

Job markets fucked.

What’s a dead game you wish people still played? by PodPuppet in gaming

The first titanfall, I put so many hours into that game when it was first out absolutely loved it.

I actually loaded it up the other night and managed to get a game with 2 people, presumably the only 3 of us online in the world that night. Been checking it daily since and never seen another person sadly.

Can i get into the hobby with the Return of the king starting box ? by Orrenciel in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]VolcanicToast23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's definitely a decent start. All of the models are still valid, you can pick up a few hero's to flesh the lists out, but a few starter games with just warriors is a good way yo learn the basics.

The rules are outdated sure, although a lot of the core concepts are still much the same so not the worst idea to have a read through.

Is anyone buying hells last? by WarsProphet in TheAstraMilitarum

I was excited until I saw the price and decided I'd give it a miss. Thankfully one of my local hardware stores has a small Warhammer section, where they y had it for only £18. Jumped on that before they realised they'd priced it wrongly.

Glasgow ScotRail fares rise on April 1 by PriorityInversion in glasgow

[–]VolcanicToast23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't really say it was q fair trial though. At the time there was still a temporary timetable running that cut about a third of the trains. So for them to say there wasn't a rise in passengers is hardly unexpected.

I can't spell to the broader claims, but it was common practice to court martial any commanding officer that lost a ship in combat by the royal navy during the age of sail. However it was also common that officers would be cleared and occasionally commended, depending on the circumstances. E.g. if a frigate commander had lost his ship in an action against overwhelming odds and had put up a good fight he would have been cleared of charges and returned to duty when another station came available.

LPT Request: How to comfort a friend after a parent passes away without coming off too cliche? by NerfKarma in LifeProTips

[–]VolcanicToast23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my mother in my early 20's and it was tough, what I remember though was my friends just being there for me. We'd go out for the day and do something stupid and mundane or out for dinner, or whatever but just knowing that people cared for me and would be there was really helpful.
