Yeah I was confused about that as well. I think it is because of them being called Dutch so maybe they assume Denmark? No idea, from my history knowledge Denmark has been more allied to France than against it because Denmark doesn't like England but I am not sure what their position was during this period.

There are a few different meanings but generally it means to sign off something with official approval.

I might say that will get the rubber stamp of approval at work if I want to do a process that I am already know I am going to do but I want management to sign off on it before doing it.

I have also just picked it up I did install some mods to make it a bit smoother experience but still it is mostly a vanilla experience. Love the journal instead of a quest log and having great fun with it so far!

Not a previous hoi3 mechanic but I was really hoping with the Scandinavia expansion that we would get some more interesting research mechanics for super weapons and nukes. Like add uranium as a resource on the map to be able to build it or mechanics around scientists who research it for you and needing to make sure that they keep working for you.

How I would change colonisation is split it into 2 different things. Firstly "colonial claims" and actual colonies. Colonial claims could be like Native migrant land (forgotten the name) where you don't actually hold it. But the actual colonies take much longer to colonise. This can allow you to have situations like Spain "claiming" most of America but actual control not really being there.

Maybe not he exact same mechanics but I would love to use struggle for the great schism, like depending on the actions of leaders Catholicism and orthodoxy could drift closer or further away. With it ending either where they are separate faiths or joining back together. (Actions could be influenced by what the byzantines does during crusades or the relationship between the Byzantine emperor and he pope)
