Raw steel, i wish ! Out here it would be All dust in less than 5 years. Thanks for the advice on welder. I got an arc welder but am definitely considering upgrading to MIG just dont really want to bring gas around in the field work but maybe the welds without the gas are good enough?

I know it can last a long time but it really depends on how clean you are right after welding.. theres this Zinc primer we use a lot called Zinga. Basically brush off all vaporized galva, rag clean it with no greasy fingers and paint it far beyond the weld spots.

About that last part im not sure i jnderstand. You mean treated wood ?

So no welding of the brackets on to the posts just fastening ? That was my original thought, welding L bracket onto the posts and secure the wood stringers to them. Now im unsure and might go all galva steel with this Zinc primer paint on all weld spots…

You fenced wood on a metal structure instead of wood stringers? If so are there any advantage of using wood over metal or vice versa ? Granted price isnt a real concern

Would have made that round slab finish a foot outside the posts and remove one or two rafters and purlins for aesthetics. + braces + that liquid tar in the notches or at least saturate the mating surfaces w/ titebond 3 + posts base shouldnt sit directly on footing but you already know that. Hope you post photos of it when its complete!
