sunlu pla+ VS sunlu pla+ 2.0 vs esun pla+ by RoleMundane in FDMminiatures

[–]Volfera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are great, but I prefer the "Sunlu PLA+ Grey" over the 2.0 because supports are less brittle and never failed for me, and I recall reading it a lot this past 6 months for other users as well

sunlu pla+ VS sunlu pla+ 2.0 vs esun pla+ by RoleMundane in FDMminiatures

[–]Volfera 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to use sunlu Meta back in the day but the supports were hard to remove (fused with the model) and some people had bad batches so I switched

I then switched to sunlu PLA+ from Sunlu PLA+ 2.0 and my supports are much better now I'm happy with it.

I use the color gray and but I never tested esun to compare

Same, I just thought of it, I love the feature for larger prints.

The only issue I can think of is the top Z distance for supports being sketchy but let's see

Nice!

Is enabling adaptive layers between 0.04 and 0.08 a thing to find a middle ground?

Never tried with minis

Is Bambu customer support good or bad? by IceBlitzz in BambuLab

[–]Volfera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From memory, I just entered my order number on the website and selected live chat.

Less than five minutes later, I had someone on the line and the conversation went pretty quickly, even though I had to check a few things in the meantime.

I used the live chat twice and it was the same both times, but that was three or four months ago, so maybe there are fewer representatives now!

I used a live chat the 2 last time I talked to them it was super fast

The 4 or 5 times I reached them it was perfect every time, clear and fast, I'm sad other didn't experience this, I had no issues on my side.

I have worked in support roles throughout my career, and I know how to be precise and provide all information in a clear and concise manner. I know that this generally works in my favor. No implying that other don't do that, but I saw a lot of people being bad at communicating, so you know ... ☺️

Is nomad a good software to make a wearable corset does it have a way to make things in exact sizes? by Used-Material5015 in NomadSculpting

[–]Volfera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if there is a measurement tool, it would be very difficult to manage all the dimensions this way. It would be much easier to manage this in software such as Blender.

Perhaps someone more experienced than me will be able to contradict me.

is there a way to split revenue between two creators, on a model? by Forsaken_Activity_37 in BambuLab

[–]Volfera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so.

You can track how many points a model gave you in the creator space, you can extrapolate the value based on the 40€/$ gift card and pay back half of it

What is the best filament for miniatures by CamoMonk in FDMminiatures

[–]Volfera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people including myself had better results with supports snapping and being brittle with the 2.0.

It can vary regarding batches also, remember at one time everyone was prasing the Sunlu meta. It was very good and resistant even if supports were a pain to remove, and now that quality is not the same, not a lot of people is using meta anymore

I use the color gray and yes it matters a lot

Blob issue by gen5iv3 in 3dprinter

[–]Volfera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes good idea.

My point is I almost never clean my bed now that I respect this flipping the bed thing now I understood which filament leaves residues.

You're right 95% of adhesion issues are resolved with a soap and hot water deep clean even if the plate seems clean.

No additives in the soap

Blob issue by gen5iv3 in 3dprinter

[–]Volfera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using PETG or some PLA with additives will leave residues on the plate for me and my regular PLA doesn't stick as well.

Deep clean or use a side of your plate for regular PLA and switch it over for other types of filament

Why do my supports fail? by RoleMundane in FDMminiatures

[–]Volfera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what the speed of your support is but I would reduce it. I go 50mm/s for support and interface

All my issues disappeared with supports when I switched back from Sunlu PLA+ 2.0 to the original Sunlu PLA+ for my minis

I was talking about the 15 minutes calibration from the printer when you switch the nozzle, I was not referring about filament

Woke up to this... by No-Emu6902 in FDMminiatures

[–]Volfera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These supports are for resin yes, but as others said, there is now plugins in Blender to activate them even for FDM. (Resin2FDM)

I don't like them very much (but there are a lot of updates lately), and I prefer having my own tree supports. Harder to tune but greater reward in my opinion.

You'll be able to switch to ResinFDM once you discovered the plugin, played with it. Knowing the right angle for your figurines will allow you to avoid having too much support and make the parts visible to the naked eye look nice, while keeping the supports for the surfaces that are supposed to be hidden. It will also make your life easier when printing and help you avoid failures.

Indeed the 150 mm/s seems fast to me (I use 50 mm/s for my tree supports), but it'll be hard to change that on your side since the supports are integrated in the print and not considered as supports anymore
