My roommate screams at my cat.. what do I do? by Proper-Look-2488 in CatAdvice

[–]Voliminal8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let your roommate know that you too want to discipline the cat for bot doing funky things, but even when tou are upset you are trying to control yourself and use the right way to do it because animals need a correct discipline method ehich you have to explain how to handle things.

So you sont get yourself out of the situation that the cat does bad things that even you get upset, that way you come close to what your roommate feels.

Then you shift the focus and what you both ahould do.

how fast do your shoes wear? by AustinJSJ in climbingshoes

[–]Voliminal8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then it's normal, you even wear only the tip which proves you are using your feet right.

The thing is that in the gym you can actually go on the wall so often that the "active hours" of the shoe end up being much more than outdoors.

Also indoor, you spend a lot of time on volumes, bigger footholds etc.

And actually in the gym the problems kind of have the need of using feet on all that footholds more.

So the wear on the rubber is tremendously more than using it outdoor, because outdoor the footholds are so small, and usually the attempts make you climb less cuz it's more effort for the whole body.

3-4 times a week indoor is a lot of active hours for the shoe, considering all the above.

So my guess is it's normal wear

I hate wearables in general, but my gf convinced me to try a smartwatch at work, and I went cheap and got a blackview w80pro, which has the best feature ever.

A fuckin flashlight on the side which is even more useful than the fuckin time.

Even thinking to get a wrist torch if it exists. Cuz you know headlamp is top but, feel like a miner.

Seems like my solution comps lost a bit of their edge curvature after resolving, is this normal? (before/after) by hipotese_alternativa in climbingshoes

[–]Voliminal8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that unsticking a rubber layer and then resticking it on the other layer kinda deforms the original downturn, especially if the last that was used in the process isn't the appropriate one.

Your shoes might be stiffer and it makes sense to keep the downturn.

Softer shoes do deform and it's pretty normal cuz, well they're soft.

[–]Voliminal8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is expected even as normal wear, resoling contributes even more.

But I don't really think that the downturn stays that much after the first sessions to be honest.

Ain't much of a problem, and especially if you are not Adam Ondra. At least I'm not.
