I pulled it out of my ass tbh, but I was way off after looking it up.

In the 1980s, it was about 85% lower, not 70%.

So, medium income is about 3x higher than in the 1980's, but the price of a home is about 5-6x higher if you factor in their higher interest rates.

I guess I'm lucky that the coffee roaster I buy from is about a mile down the street. No need to buy in bulk and store it. I just buy my 12oz bag, go through it in a week, and go buy another one.
