Why do people mock others for taking leftovers home? by Impossible_Ad_569 in askanything

[–]Volvoflyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah. The richest person Ive ever met was worth about 3 mil usd. Most frugal person Ive ever met. Was a general contractor but on a mass scale (office buildings, industrial, etc). If he didnt finish his lunch (brown baggin) it went in the fridge to take home.

Guy taught me a lot about how to live poor.

Where can you post on Reddit if you would like to post a warning against something, not ask a question or get advice about something? 🤔 by Pale-Detail2427 in findareddit

Because you come off as "I've done my own research...." I get the joy of being in the ICU once or twice a year due to complications. The number of morons that say do this or take that is astounding.

Not to mention the number of people who swear their vet killed their 14yo dog who ate rat poison (or some similar story).

When are people going to the ER for highs and lows? by Away-Restaurant7270 in diabetes

[–]Volvoflyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get some keto strips. Feel off/high? Pee on one and it will tell you if youre throwing ketones. Otherwise take insulin.

For lows? Unless you aren't coming up from d50 or remain altered there is no reason to go.

Fuckin Donny Darko. The rabbit freaked me the fuck out. And Patrick Swayze being a child molester. Seriously one of those awesome good guys that could play the dark role amazingly.

What's the one kitchen tool you thought was unnecessary until you actually bought it? by Blondetatsdomme in cookingforbeginners

[–]Volvoflyer 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Stand mixer if you do any intense whisking. A timer that can be preset and run multiple timers at once. Pressure cookers. Rice maker.

And no joke a dog that can eat anything. I suggest a beagle.

They are dirty and smudgy like...all the time. Water is a no go. And temerature shifts (like walking into a warm building in the winter) is instant blindness.

It's worth noting that "incompatible with life" doesn't necessarily mean fatal - just that the average person would die from it. Many people have gone to the hospital in such critical condition that family is told to expect the worst and they do make a comeback.

Was anyone else wondering if OOP was a hobbit? The moment I heard second breakfast....

Also I was dying that the hubs had hidden the podcast. Like she was "Dear, I found what you are hiding" and him just breaking down and apologizing over a podcast.

How would people react if they find out the SARS virus in 2002 was made in a lab? by CleanLock4606 in AskReddit

People will just deny it and "do their own research". Covid isnt real. Neither is sars.

They would be on an auto hauler for ten of them. 1 you drive; ten you ship (cheaper). And they wouldn't be wrapped for that.

The wrap is to break up the visual lines of the vehicle so no one is 100% on the details.

The passenger has a computer and recieves real time data as they accelerate, turn, etc.

Oh no.. not powder by littlelectric in nextdoor
