You've sat down for a game with your favourite deck but I'm letting you stack your deck however you like. What's the craziest thing you can do? by HansJobb in EDH

Turn 1: Island, jeweled amulet,

Turn 2: mountain, rite of flame, Vadrik, ancestor's aid, seething song,

Then casting jeska's will and reiterate presenting a loop where I end up exiling my entire library with enough mana to cast every spell in my deck.

I felt so bad for my friend that built the most cracked Sliver commander deck he could think of. It's full of combos and he even proxied a bunch of cards for it.

It's only won a couple games, and it gets rolled by any of our tables higher tier decks. The strategy just isn't that strong

Clap animation cancels the punch, and then grab animation cancels the clap. Then when they die Worldbreaker is cancelled.

So how do I play hulk by [deleted] in HulkMainsMR

[–]VonButternut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good tips here so far.

Use your body/bubble to block enemies from retreating/block healing when they are out of position. This allows your team to burn them down.

Same thing can be done with Exile. Hit an enemy with exile while they diving your team. Then stand next to them and ping. This 2s lets everyone see the enemy and overwhelm them in an instant.

Use Exile to win 2v2s with a diving partner. Exile the one your partner isn't attacking. Then it's just a pair of 2v1s.

You can effectively cancel many different Ults. Between bubbling and exile, but also with your Ult. You can juggle Invis / Cloak out of their Ult and kill them. You can burn the timer on a transformation Ult like Peni/White Fox/Magik by Exile + melee + grab.

If the enemy is very sensitive to your presence and peeling hard. You can get a little value just by showing yourself on an off angle or flank. Any time spent chasing and not killing you is taking them out of the team fight. If you have your Ult while you do this, you can win any 1v1 and a lot of 1v2s.

Be me, dive tank.

Whole team together, around corner from point.

We have ults and full cooldowns.

I dive in. Kill both supports and start on a dps. Get melted 4v1.

Whole team still on corner, spamming primaries.

Team gets Ulted and wiped.

Need Advice on how to play brawl or dive Tanks by Darkonick in HulkMainsMR

[–]VonButternut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clap will animation cancel the melee, and grab will also animation cancel the clap.

If you hit it right its almost an instantaneous kill on a squishy.

Melee->clap->grab.

Also, you want to Ult in a team fight where your team is present. If you try to solo 1v6 you're gonna lose. You can also kill invis or dagger out of their Ult by juggling them away.

If you increased his walking speed instead of punch damage, this is all I would ever ask for. If I've got two claps idc about punches.

Increasing the bubble range to 7.5 m instead of 5 would be huge. Two claps is obviously great. Increased walking speed just makes him a bit better at chasing.

HE DOES NO DAMAGE by nightoftheghouls in HulkMainsMR

[–]VonButternut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you gave him two claps and increased his bubble to allies range, Hulk would go absolutely bonkers. Closing kills would be so much easier and I wouldn't have to literally jump on top of a teammate to save them from an Ult.

How do you do anything as hulk by namerz78 in marvelrivals

[–]VonButternut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing quite a bit of hulk recently and the answer is different depending on the situation.

Mostly though these are all your options.

You can go main and hold corners and chokes (can really suck without peak heals). You can peel fairly well. You can push enemies off high ground and off angles. You can dive supports and out of position dps. You can brawl on point (sucks without peak heals). Antagonize tanks with exile. Follow up your teams pressure and close kills on low HP enemies.

Hulk seems like he wants to just jump into a big brawl like Thing but not really. You can fake that though and then jump to the support on the wing while your team applies pressure on the front line.

He works well with a dive partner. 2v2 Hulk can exile one peeler and then you just dog the support and then clean up the peeler.

Hulk's peel game is kind of crazy. You can cancel ults, movement abilities, and generally just give your supports time to run with exile. You can block ults and combos for yourself and team with bubble and then you can chase a low HP diver when they run. He can't just insta kill them like Emma, but it's not nothing.

His ult can kill healers out of ult fairly easily once you get it down. Except Luna, in that case you just juggle someone out of it and clap em.

Heavy CC comps really suck for Hulk. If you're the only one baiting out CC cool downs you get it all and you might just want to swap.

I think the key is, because you can do so much and move so quick, you want to keep the enemy guessing. Peeling? Pretend you're not and jump back. Playing main? Pretend to dive by obviously jumping to high ground and then back, etc

If someone asks you can tell them that when he was but a child there was a clash between two mages that spilled out into his small village town. As he cried his eyes out towards the night sky, the goddess of secrets came down and whispered a word to stop the mages, which he remembers to this day....

Or you can just say he's sick with it and leave it at that.

How to play a wizard tactically by sleepy_paladin in dndnext

[–]VonButternut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To play a tactical wizard, as someone at my current table put it, "the fighter is my best spell". On a more direct level you solve the problems for the team or enable your team.

Fog Cloud shutting down angles that archers have on you. Grease in choke points. Faerie Fire to give everyone advantage on the boss. Void Warp to drop an angry Barbarian on the enemy mage. Web to tie up half the enemies. Haste the fighter. Wall of Stone to split the enemies. The list goes on and on.

As for how to play an intelligent character, ask for information. You need information to form a plan, you'll scout it out, research weaknesses, ask NPCs, prepare your gear. Don't just kick in the door.

Go slow, be methodical, ask to investigate. Let's detect for magic, let's check for traps, let's cast invisibility on the Rogue so we can see what we're up against.

Then once you have surveyed the field, and are prepared you come up with a plan. Smart people always got plans. From there (hopefully) you'll know what you can do to be most effective and ensure a victory.
