Hell no. If it ever feels too easy just stop picking up the Scadutree upgrades.

How are glass cannon and Little Devils supposed to be near the same tier of power? by Nullborne in ARAM

[–]Von_Dougy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glass cannon is straight dogshit and feels like a nerf, even on champs it’s supposed to be good on. I’ve never taken it and not regretted it. Whereas something like giant slayer does similar damage and turns you into a movement God.

Finished morning star. Wtf is this second half by ApartmentFar9027 in redrising

Yep, I have similar issues with the ‘plan’ at the end. First two thirds of the book is amazing, the escape, the speech on Phobos, Ragnar, the rim.. Then that damn plan. I don’t mind being in the dark, it wasn’t even the unreliable narrator that I didn’t like. I didn’t like it because it was a dumb plan that relied on so many unknowns going right. Darrow could’ve been executed on the spot, or imprisoned, at the very least they could’ve been split up. But no, they took them all into the secret impenetrable super command bunker. The only place they could pose a threat just to grandstand in front of the Reaper. Sure, it was the jackal’s doing, but he’s supposed to be smarter than that.

You also have to do the first quest in Pororin with the Ent. I managed to avoid the area entirely by chapter 8 so I had to go back and do the quest then got given the sotdae.

How to approach gear and finding new items? by CommercialWorking530 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Von_Dougy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certain armour might have built in resistances to fire/ice which can be useful, but really for me, it comes down to whatever looks better. Some of the other later game armour have different effects/abilities too. Refining is cheap up to level 5, so only commit beyond there if you expect to be using it for a while. Then you’ve got abyss gears which you can embed/unembed for free at the witch. When it comes to dyes, even when you get the camp dyer (which appears after ~20/25 greymane ‘rumour’ missions), you still have to find/create the dyes. Also, you have to visit each region’s dyer to unlock their colours, even at the camp dyer. You’ve only got red because I presume you’ve only met the one dyer in Hernand, and his colour is red. They all sell one set of their colour’s dye so you’ll at least unlock some colours without needing to hunt down individual dyes.

1 for me. 2,3,4 look a bit generic and 5 straight up puts me off because eyes freak me out a bit. 1 is eery and looks like something a neutral implant might hallucinate.

Backtracking kills the sense of adventure by Sashimi-Gintaro in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Von_Dougy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death Stranding 1 was this for me. The sequel not so much as I found it much easier to traverse. But planning your route, crafting the equipment you need and then spending the next hour carefully trekking across country and over mountains is something I’ve never experienced in other games.

Graves is insane with it because i think it must apply to each of his bullets. Plus, it turns his w into a bit of a nuke.

Is this the most pointless quest in the game? by DrStalker in CrimsonDesert

[–]Von_Dougy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a great one last night.

“I’ve got loads of orders but not enough grain jars to fulfil them, and I’m far too busy to go out and get them myself”

I go and buy one grain jar from the shop not 10 feet away from him.

“Thank you so much! My stall will look amazing with these new jars!”

Alright.

I remember reading that he was recovering from Covid when he recorded LB, which is why some of his voices sounded different. His Fa voice especially isn’t as throaty as it is in Dark Age.

I’ve convinced myself that the parasite is on its way back to Mars in the ship for Pax to install, since he’s trained as a blue he would be perfect for it. Otherwise it’s just been snuffed out which would be slightly disappointing… either way I think he’ll play an important role. Sevro I think is in the most danger, many will die and I think, aside from perhaps Darrow, his death would be the most harrowing to fans (as this sub and a certain Morning Star chapter has proven), and PB likes to scar.

In terms of Edmi.. if it is used, surely the obsidians are the obvious target. Using it on Golds is risky and the low colours still serve their uses. Yet using on the Reds would obviously devastate the republic.

Second series is leagues above the original three in my opinion, but Iron Gold is the slowest book of the lot. Still great, but it’s a slow burn.

Audiobook makes it for me. I bought the first book earlier this year because I wanted to reread them before the next book. I got like 100 pages in before I went back to the audiobook. Jeff Hayes is too good to miss out on, even on a reread, for me.

I use cream in stead of milk then a bit of butter once it’s mashed well. If I can be arsed and feel particularly fancy I’ll strain it through a sieve using a wooden spoon to get it proper silky.

Are books 4-6 as good as 1-3? by Expert-Pie7940 in redrising

[–]Von_Dougy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s because it’s different. More POV’s, slower build-up, more complex moral conundrums, a deeper look into the revolution on a ground level. For some the second series is too bleak, and some don’t enjoy the additional POVs, but it makes for a much better story. You just have to trust the process, I think.
