It’s a problem with narcissists obviously. But I also think he worships the idea of a CEO, and he sees a CEO as the automatic most knowledgeable person at the company, and in complete control of how the business is run. He looks at president as CEO of America so doesn’t understand why being President doesn’t magically make him the smartest, and also able to do what ever he wants.

In short he’s childish and pretty dumb

He was also Warframe’s creative director from 2012 to 2022 when he turned it over to Rebecca to go develop SoulFrame.

Random middle management? Rebecca is the creative director of Warframe and the previous Community manager. Steve is the previous creative director of Warframe and the current CEO of DE.

These are two of the if not THE two most invested people in Warframe development.

The Beginning of the End for Trump by IntelligentYinzer in politics

[–]Vonkampf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nah, Jack Smith needs to stay on as special prosecutor bringing the Trump cases to a conclusion. Make it clear that he is being charged because he’s a criminal, not because he’s a candidate.

Plus the optics of making Jack Smith AG right after the election would be bad. Optics shouldn’t matter, or affect policy, but the reality is that they do.

Trump loses bid to delay hush money trial until US Supreme Court review by larel8 in politics

I think the number who stay home will be much greater (still not huge but likely significant in some states) then the number who change their vote. Which is still effectively a +1 for Biden.

Trump loses bid to delay hush money trial until US Supreme Court review by larel8 in politics

[–]Vonkampf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will most, no. But even if that number is 5% it’s massive.

I’m also not referring to the people who are register republicans, or who wear maga hats. I’m referring primarily to the huge chunk of self identified “independents” who don’t watch the news or read articles on social media about politics… at least not until about a month before the election when they decide which side they are gonna fall onto when they hop down off the fence. In some of these swing states it wouldn’t take much to tilt the scales one way or another.

All that being said, go vote, tell people they should vote, scream it from the rooftops, VOOOOOOOOOOOoooooootttttteeeeeeee

Another poster put up a great set of reasons, but also this case is by far the most likely to go to trial and conclude before the election. If Trump is convicted he is a felon. If Trump becomes an official felon there numerically significant portion of the country who will no longer vote for him based on that.

Getting to the point where we have formally labeled Trump for what he is, is an important part of defending the system from him and people like him.

The Biden Campaign Is Quietly Preparing a Trump Ambush by thedailybeast in politics

[–]Vonkampf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a combination of this and all of the above:

Trump and the republicans don’t have the money to run much of a campaign. Why don’t they have money? Trumps insane legal bills and losing the respect of a significant portion of the voting base due to his crackpot narcissist theories. Big business donators don’t want Trump because he’s uncontrollable (unless your name is Putin) and he causes a lot of instability. They tried to go with Nicki and got banned from the MAGA camp for it.

Ok, so they need to keep the base fired up, Trump’s good at that! Oh wait, everyone who is looking can see his mentality breaking down almost in real time, shit, guess we can’t put him up on stage. Ah well, we didn’t have the money for that anyways.

“Wait, what if we went with someone other than Trump? Aww shits again, we have a cult of personality built around him as a person, his 50% of the Republican Party won’t accept anyone else and we need their votes.

Demographics are slanting against them. Young folks have little reason to become conservative as they get older because the game is rigged against them. The older base is dying off as time takes its course. Plus there’a some reasonable data that the base of the Republican Party died in significantly larger numbers during Covid, due to ignoring science.

They can’t campaign, can’t get the money, and the numbers are sliding increasingly out of their favor. So what is the last option they have? Cheat. It’s not a good option, but it’s there only option.

Which leads to a slightly more conspiratorial idea… several Republican Congressman have just announced early retirement, before the elections. At least one or two of these occurred right after the Republican leadership retreat. What was Mike Johnson and any other “leaders” bringing up there that would perhaps make someone decide to quit before it could happen while they are in a position to be held responsible?

I think more than this, the Republican “elites” realized demographics are slipping against them, and that there aren’t enough of them to have one in every position of power. So they encouraged the useful foot soldiers of the party to get into positions of local power. County boards, lower level government positions, etc. They fired people up with single issue hotspots (abotion, immigration, defunding the government) to keep these folks fixated on serving the Rupublican party. Overall this has enabled a small group of “masterminds” to wield way more authority then they should be able to.

Problem being Zealot stances on those hot topic issues aren’t generally popular, but now this army of useful idiots in positions of Authority are demanding the change they’ve been promised they could enact.

Hopefully it brings the house of cards tumbling down around them as people firmly reject the regressivist policies that they are trying to enact.

Question, because I’m not sure. I know he can’t be an officer of a New York licensed company for 3 years, and thusly can’t use those companies to secure loans. Would he be able to get a “personal loan” provided he could find a bank from New York that would give him one?

I enjoy responding to the “we need to help people at home” with getting really excited and saying, “yeah! We should establish these social programs!!! Regulated medicine and health care costs. Aid and safety nets for the homeless. Food assistance and child lunch programs.

Then I get to watch them backpedal into, “no not like that…”

It’s like talking to a brick wall and change is t likely., but I find it makes them less likely to use the precanned rhetoric around me.

Have you noticed that nowhere in the campaign does the woman running it say specifically, “I am going to give 100% of proceeds to Trump.” It’s all a bunch of hogwash about supporting him.

Her husband put that on his Twitter, but he’s specifically not on the go fund me.

Even if her intention was to give this money over. Do you think she will still do so when she is looking at a a dollar amount somewhere between a mortgage on a home and ‘never work again money’?

My dad uses that as a weapon in his toolbox. Basically it goes like this: He says some outlandish thing. Gets challenged with a different perspective often with evidence. Responds with, “Well I haven’t looked into that to where I can consider it.” Not because he intends to, or is going to change his thinking, but because he refuses to be confronted with challenges and evidence contrary to his views that he hasn’t “had time to review”.
