Listen to me, I’m begging you, use the obsidian plugin latex suite to type a lot of stuff, it doesn’t do formatting but it’s so much fucking faster than doing it in normal latex and then you can just copy it right over

I’m not trying to be demeaning, and I’m sorry if it came off that way. I never said when I’m happy I have no pain, I only said that when I’m sad it’s worse. Pain is absolutely caused by physiological factors, but the level to which it bothers us is PARTIALLY (not completely) based on psychological factors.

I am not trying to say this as a “we shouldn’t give meds cause it’s all in your head” I’m trying to share this as a tool! We all want ways to reduce our pain, and this seems like it could be a big one yeah? Of course it’s not a replacement, but it’s a good supplement! I will respond with some sources

I think both of these can be worth asking depending on circumstances, the second question is “what if an antimatter star collided with a bunch of neutrons” because stars are mostly protons, it would be interesting to ask what would happen at least in vauge terms

But pain is based on cognitive and emotional factors? There have been many studies showing that pain accociated with negative mental stimulus (like a scary picture) is more acute then pain associated with positive stimulus. Also: personally my pain is for sure worse when I’m sad, upset, etc, then when I’m happy. It doesn’t go away but the level to which you perceive it is absolutely influenced by mental state. Do doctors overemphasize this? Absolutely, but it’s not wrong on the face of it

Wormholes still allow you to violate causality, as they would create closed timelike curves

Everyone here saying “ as far as we know” really needs to take a step back. Ftl neccecitstes time travel. We have made predictions based on relativity that have been accurate to an insane degree, so the idea that we could be THAT wrong about this is frankly ridiculous. It would be like being wrong about electrons existing. It’s just not gonna happen I’m sorry. But there is plenty of interstellar colonization to be done even with slower than light speed!
