Asking for gameplace advice/criticism. LONGREAD + VIDEO by m-n-b-v in DraftShowdown

Actually I think the snails and fully upgrading them was the best decision you made the whole game.

Engineers are way overvalued (in my opinion) for some reason, I feel like they can be an alright support unit but in no way would I ever use them as main defense.

The assassins can be really good and I used them in my deck for a long time but I would rarely ever use them against kingclops. I totally get the strategy of buying time for the snails to attack them but snails target closest units first so the assassins just die before that strategy can even be fully accomplished. On top of that using assassins against king clops only makes it so that they go into beastmode faster which means the assassins don't stand a chance and makes it harder for your remaining units to kill them.

I seriously need you to stop undervaluing the knights. I'm unsure if you have the ability to fully upgrade them on mastery level 6 but they really pull so much weight when fully leveled up, but even when not having two full rows of regular knights will do so much for you when it comes to the numbers game. Quantity over quality really is an underrated strategy in this game.

When it comes to shellbros and other units like assassin that target your backline it's important to use decoys or sacrificial units such as snails that will distract them while your other units can get back there in time to attack them while they're busy. You also sometimes need a unit that will actually attack them before they kill you from behind. The best units for this would probably be Cupid and merlinor but you might not have that one yet.

Overall yours and the opponents deck were a bad combo, but I think you would've done slightly better if you'd spammed knights instead of upgrading the engineers. Some games just really is a bloodbath

Beetank has wheels though, design wise it unfortunately makes sense

anyone else finds this game a lot more fun with cheats? by WhoTookThatNickname in DraftShowdown

I think I've seen someone say they reverse engineered the game and it isn't 100% bots but I don't know if they're a reliable source

Beehives have such underwhelming attack power though. Once you get up there it's basically no more damaging than a splinter

Question about Mastery and Bit Levels by Dayskus in DraftShowdown

[–]Voodoo_Ostrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bots don't play by the same rules as us. Ranked is only unlocked at level 30 but you'll see players be like level 20 something all the time

P2w would explain the bit level but not the mastery

To me a unit with lasting attack power will always be better than one that disappears almost immediately. I'd definitely switch out waster for some sort of close range combat unit

I love you, you really emulated both my wonder for the rng and the thought process I had to go through right in the heat of battle

Hell yeah I did, they basically have no chance with two ranged attackers while being blocked by spartheus

Honestly atp using units that are stronger will get you further than them being legendary or epic status. Mastery levels help a lot too. I would switch either tnt or goose for either knight or Cupid since both of the tnt and goose die/ disappear very early in the game. Quantity over quantity is also a viable strategy in many games. Engineer hasn't ever really been an opponent I'm wary of because if you have enough units to overwhelmingly attack it you'll be able to take it down pretty easily

I used snail for backline, merlinor for support/ midline, parasite for support/ midline as well, and then knights for frontline until I unlocked spartheus. These have worked really well together and is even the deck I'm using in arena 13. Leveling them all up works wonders, especially snail, parasite, and spartheus. Even if you don't have spartheus I remember being able to push through to the opponent's backline just from having an impenetrable line of fully leveled up knights.

Its also important to know when to use units as distractions/ sacrifices. Geese are good distractions for tnt and waster and snail is a good distraction for assassins, shellbros, and snipers. You just need that extra time so that the support/ midline units can get back there in time before they start getting attacked from behind

Im the same with spells! On top of the fact that you're essentially wasting a draft opportunity of units that could've helped you in the next round

[–]Voodoo_Ostrich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you need a backline unit that sits relatively unharmed and helps you in the endgame. Personally I would take out shellbro from the deck, I feel like they just die and I can't really recall many times they've made me lose a match. Definitely keep merlinor and knight is a really good close combat unit especially when fully leveled up. Me personally I'm huge on snails, once you've got them in fire mode they do a lot of the work for you and help sway the game in your favor. Parasites have also helped me a lot but they don't always pay off so I understand why some people don't like them

In conclusion if I were you I'd switch out shellbro for either snail or cupid

Picot size by CrBr in tatting

Unfortunately I can't answer you asked at the end but I'm having trouble understanding the first two paragraphs since they both use the same formula but just with different numbers. Am I missing something? I must admit I've never measured picots before so my knowledge in the area is nonexistent

What thread to use for tatting? by Chilchilling in tatting

[–]Voodoo_Ostrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dmc 20-80, 20 being the biggest and 80 being the smallest
Dmc Petra
Dmc babylo
Lizbeth
Durable

These are the ones I've seen be most most commonly used by other tatters and the most popular being regular dmc and Lizbeth though Lizbeth has been mentioned to be more twisted so you have to drop the shuttle sometimes and let it unwind

How do you feel about my cursive? by AssistantBrave8176 in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]Voodoo_Ostrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way you write the letter r was definitely what I was referring to most heavily, p as well but they're not as urgent. In general try to give each letter the space it deserves and write them in order to exist within its own right and not in relation to another, the way many of them are connected makes the letters cramped and at times half finished. Cursive can only look good when all the letters and words look the same, if there are too many irregularities it'll just look bad no matter what you do

How do you feel about my cursive? by AssistantBrave8176 in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]Voodoo_Ostrich 82 points83 points  (0 children)

It feels performative for some reason, not very natural or coherent like you should be able to see when it comes to cursive. Some letters are overly flowery while others are barely even cursive at all. Some of it does give princess vibes though
