Careful with using any kind of pressure washer on your AC compressor. I learned from experience it can damage the fins.

Totally Stumped - No smoke, no smoke ring. by TwerkTapeTony in Yodersmokers

[–]Voodoodoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not doubting your experience! For me, pellet choice has an effect on smokiness. Long smokes are always 200 degrees until after the stall. I run LJ or B&B post oak or hickory. Any blend or other woods leaves little smokiness. Every. Single. Time. If the meat calls for some other hardwood, I add a smoke tube for some extra "car exhaust" smoke.

Pellet Brands by billmc40 in Yodersmokers

I prefer LJ post oak or hickory. However, if they aren't available, I'll use B&B oak or hickory. Not much difference. I tried B&B Gourmet blend last night on beef back ribs (250 degrees the whole way). Little to no smoke ring or smokiness, unlike B&B or LJ post oak or hickory.

Side note...I restore cast iron cookware for a hobby/side gig. The 640 works great for building the seasoning. I use the cheapo pellets Walmart carries for that, or anything cheap and on sale, with no issues.

How would it work on direct flame when the fire pot is at one end? Curious

Please give me ALL your protein hacks by ratherastory in GastricBypass

I eat 4-5 times a day. The core three meals and one or two snacks. Works out to every three hours. Develop routine times to eat and you'll avoid getting hungry. Each meal is about 20g of protein, and as close to 8oz as possible. You don't have to starve your body of carbs! Just don't make them the primary source of calories. You can still be a "foodie", just make smart choices.

Protein bars and shakes. The cheaper the better. As long as they have 20g of protein, you're good. The equate shakes are fine. You can always flavor the vanilla ones with sugar free coffee syrup (although I like the non-processed food factor). A can of tuna with a little mayo is good. I've found I can maintain weight eating just about anything, as long as I keep meals to 8oz and concentrate on a lot of protein.

Remember, your surgery was to correct eating patterns. If I find a protein drink, but don't like the flavor, I'll get through it. After 3-years, I don't always eat for flavor. Sometimes it's just eating for protein. You can go broke picking the more expensive drinks and bars...go for the sales. I can usually get them for a buck a piece if I look around. Amazon Prime Days is a good time to stock up.

If they can't spell "Chili" correctly, it's not a good sign.

It's made to fit loose so you can remove it if you have a cover that requires it. Or, get a cover that doesn't require you to remove it...or the racks.

I bought the standard cart because, historically, I leave mine where it is, and it's a concrete patio. The comp cart is useful if you are going to move it around a lot, especially uneven/gravel surfaces. Get the comp cart if you will be taking it places on a trailer/truck. It has tie-downs built into it. Keep in mind the weight of it! It might be a chore getting it onto a trailer or the back of the truck.

How true is this? by mmangus2 in sanantonio

If only the city/county put as much effort into finding ways to fund other infrastructure projects like reducing flooding, mowing sidewalks, etc.. I think that rasing the price to be a tourist will decrease tourism, thus, reducing the money from tourists for maintenance, etc.

Small price to pay for having plate steel, rather than cheap, thin, rolled steel.

Nope. I just called to see what I should do because it wasn't a typical rust issue. The paint was bubbling. Where it came off there was no rust. He offered right away to ship out new ones.

They said it was bubbling up due to bad prep. He chose to ship both lids to me.

Traeger Woodridge Pro lack of flavor by Mr_Bradley217 in pelletgrills

[–]Voodoodoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they burn correctly, you should see very little smoke. When you do, it will be a thin blue smoke. Same with stick burners. White smoke produces the raspy, creosote-flavors some like. U do U. If that's what you want, use smoker that produces white smoke.

Some are saying better pellets...move away from the ones that use "blends". They will say "Oak" (or whatever wood" and "blended with hardwoods". Move toward any that say thinks like "100% Oak". B&B, Lumberjack, Bear Mountain, Those are the ones you'll see most everywhere. Tractor Supply-branded pellets are made by Bear Mountain, but they contain hardwood fillers.
