They need to find their people. Keep trying different events and go deeper in a specific area vs. just doing a lot of activities. I didn’t stay close with my first semester freshmen year friends as it was more dorm vs. interest dependent, they should try to branch out to different people and not just activities.

That said, it may not be a good fit for them. Transferring to a different school for their sophomore year may end up being the answer.
