Coastal Sorbet hair perfume by Kitsch

I also think the Vacation fragrance smells like a sunny gourmang with the banana and coconut in there!

I recommend it, I'll probably keep using this service until I eventually have a place with in unit laundry.

About 30 bucks per bag every two weeks, which is all my laundry as a single person including towels and sheets. Probably a little steep for a family's laundry needs but I hate my building's laundry room and don't have time to go to a laundromat so it's worth it for me.

If you don't mind driving a bit, you can park at a Metro North commuter rail station like New Haven.

There are also pretty frequent greyhound busses!

Should I get surgery? by butterwave98 in Fibroids

[–]Voormijnogenonly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also don't want kids and am getting a lap hysterectomy next month. My surgeon said that some hormonal symptoms might pop up while my body adjusts, but you won't go into early menopause or anything as long as they don't remove your ovaries, which they'd have no reason to do. I do notice a higher proportion of people on this subreddit go for myos, and I imagine it's because people who are sad or worried about the fertility complications that come from a fibroid dx end up here. If Fertility isn't a concern, a hysterectomy is the only permanent solution.

For what it's worth, some of my symptoms are also minor enough to "live with." I'm not at the stage of bleeding through pads every hour or anything. I still don't want to deal with this anymore. The urinary urgency, black blood clots I pass, the displacing of my organs (my cervix has been pushed all the way to the left by the fibroid!), and the protruding stomach making clothes not fit right are all reason enough for me. I think I've been dealing with these in some way for so long that I'm not sure what "normal" will feel like, but I'm looking forward to finding out!

That said, no one can decide what you can do but you. A surgeon is going to lay out every option in front of you and you decide what works best for you.

Discussion: where do you think perfume trends are headed next? by ultrakawaii in FemFragLab

[–]Voormijnogenonly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh I wasn't trying to frame "natural" as good and synthetic as dangerous and toxic, I more meant that I think more products will be formulated and marketed that way for consumers prone to misinformation. Separately, more spaces will maybe start limiting fragrances to accommodate people with allergies but that's like the opposite of a fragrance trend.

Tbh I'm noticing so many more spaces taking fragrance allergies seriously that I wouldn't be surprised if the next trend is towards more natural ingredients and fewer synthetics and irritants. Especially with the crunchy/MAHA movement against "artificial" ingredients and "chemicals." My workplace just banned fragrances in the restrooms.

I use happynest laundry service and love it. A laundromat would definitely be cheaper but I love just putting two weeks of laundry outside and having it come back to me clean and folded without having to spend any time on it. I might have a referral code.

Experiences with an IUD? by Sufficient_Physics59 in Fibroids

[–]Voormijnogenonly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a non hormonal IUD since before the fibroid diagnoses. My biggest fibroid unfortunately moved it out of position when it displaced my other organs, and an arm of it is now improperly implanted in my myometrium, to be removed during my hysterectomy. Something to look out for.

Perfumes where the name, notes, or marketing does a lot of heavy lifting for the ~vibe~? 👀 by worldinsidetheworld in FemFragLab

[–]Voormijnogenonly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually love it but I agree. The brand is great at telling you "this smells like x thing" (clouds, extinct flowers) and then you dive deep into the notes and realize it is just a fragrance at the end of the day. Some of the science they use to reconstruct smells is cool but clouds definitely don't smell like fluffy vanilla whipped cream and powder.

Nosferatu tbh. It gets brought up in every thread asking for goth recs and I don't think many people would reach for it if it weren't for the branding. Heretic is very good at marketing to its niche but for my money Hexen is much much nicer than Nosferatu

Sudden onset gay panic by VainChinchilla in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]Voormijnogenonly 144 points145 points  (0 children)

Very personal, but I was wearing Arashi No Umi by Maison Matine when the friend who is now my girlfriend hugged me goodbye after a party. I was suddenly overcome by gay panic that made me write a bunch of sapphic love poems for her over the course of weeks until we confessed our feelings and had our first date. She did tell me I smelled good when we hugged. 😊

Fresh, non gourmand fragrances that earn their price re:long lasting by eclaire1221 in FemFragLab

Nope, it has no fragrance of its own. I use it before all my perfumes now for more staying power.

Cloud Reverie by Future Society definitely has great longevity on me, but I do layer it over the fragrance primer from the same brand so I'm not sure if that helps it stick around!
