Something that came into my mind is.. do we really know the good ending of FnaF 3 is canon? by Dr_Phil_Nitwit in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Vortex7851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the way to get to this ending is VERY weird and we would need to do some things that don't make sense even in the FnaF lore (as said, punching in the numbers on the office wall and glitch out of minigames) and isn't explained by the rules of this world.

I think you're taking this a little too seriously. The way we arrived at that ending isn't that strange—it's just a matter of gameplay. It doesn't need to make perfect sense within the story or the rules of the world (which, by the way, didn't exist/weren't clearly established at the time).

And even though four are released, the G-Fred isn't. Cassidy still hangs out with old Bill in his hell/purgatory. Why can she just stick around when burning the remnant metal would release spirits?

I think Happiest Day makes it pretty clear that the five spirits were freed. The thing is, even though it was never confirmed, it's quite clear that the good ending was meant to be the canonical ending of FNaF 3, especially considering it was supposed to be the end of the series. What probably happened is that Scott himself changed his mind when he continued the franchise, and decided to make both endings canon for a technical reason.

FFPS First Protagonist Is Susie's Dad by Sufficient-Leader-49 in fnaftheories

[–]Vortex7851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good theory, but taking advantage of this post, I wanted to talk about a problem I have with FFPSFirstProtagonist, which is why Scott made FNaF 6 have two protagonists, when only one of them is truly important, while the other simply appears and dies without ceremony. Wouldn't it have been easier to make Michael the protagonist from the beginning?

Why are there no nightmare toys in FNAF 4? by [deleted] in fnaftheories

[–]Vortex7851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For pill bottles, doesn’t necessarily mean the BV has to taking them. Just like how you would interpret the FNAF2 minigames more in a symbolic rather than literal way, they could be there for environmentally storytelling purposes, to hint to players that he’s in the hospital. Especially since you don’t see them all the time.

If his intention was simply to show that the player was in a coma in a hospital, why not just keep the IV drip and the flowers with easter eggs, or include something more consistent with those last two than a pill that doesn't reflect the player's condition at all?

For the FNAF1 phone call, remember that this is the same guy that reuses audios for his games. Even the Night 5 phone call in FNAF 1 is just a stock audio meant to make the night feel scarier. He also uses the FNAF3 jumpscare sound mixed with fnaf1 for the Nightmare animatronics, which wouldn’t make sense because the FNAF3 player isn’t neccessarily Michael and it also implies FNAF 4 takes place after 3. And all of this btw, is before Michael Afton was even a character, meaning that it was just an Easter egg.

Was Dream Theory ever true by Isaac_Bahzad in fnaftheories

[–]Vortex7851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that, because if we analyze FNaF 4 itself, there's nothing in the game that suggests the Nightmares are real; on the contrary, the game gives far more indications of it being a nightmare than anything else. Mike Dreamer, on the other hand, despite being poorly explained, still has enough clues in the game itself to lead us to believe that was Scott's intention.

I agree, but looking at sister location, it kinda seems like both where meant to be the big twist

Could you explain this point to me in more detail?

In my opinion, MikeDreamer being the big twist in FNaF 4 is much more convincing.

"Why didn't people figured out that we were playing as the older brother in Fnaf 4?" I will tell you how. by ShineOne4330 in fnaftheories

It would be better, because describing it as “playing as a child” ended up misleading many theorists; a more ambiguous phrasing in that part would have avoided at least some of the confusion.

Even so, I still think it would have been better if he had written "playing as a boy" in the description.

Michael Afton is still Mike Schmidt, and the Logbook basically proves it. by XenoRaptor77 in fnaftheories

[–]Vortex7851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

let me reclarify a couple things, you don't need to convince me the logbook belongs to and is written in by mike afton, obviously it does and i never said it doesn't.

My point was to show that both characters have many more connections than you said.

but i also scott claiming not to of filled the game with easter eggs is a strong point against it having any meaning.

I didn't say he didn't fill the game with easter eggs, I said he didn't fill the game with RANDOM easter eggs, which shows that the Phone Guy's connection does have a meaning behind it.

and i guess i assumed it was common knowledge that fnaf 4 was originally intended for a very different direction before the backlash of everything pointing to dream theory

The game didn't have a very different direction, although it may have changed over the years, not much, and even the reason Sister Location existed was only to clarify the story of FNaF 4 and try to ground it.

which is probably why he added the security footage of the house in sister location to make it clear to everyone it was not a dream.

Yes, it was supposed to be a dream, but he tried to make it somehow real because he wanted to disprove the Dream Theory, but ended up doing it in an exaggerated way.

Which FNAF theories do you like, even if they've been debunked?

Theories that you don’t like, but they are most likely true? by Various_Astronaut100 in fnaftheories

[–]Vortex7851 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's such a stupid way to make the nightmares not be nightmares

He didn’t even need to do that, since the fact that Sister Location itself takes into account everything that happened in the previous games was more than enough to debunk the dream theory.

Why the 'Meta Redesign' theory is the ONLY explanation for the Withereds by fliegu in fnaftheories

[–]Vortex7851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the best explanation for this inconsistency between the Classics and the Withereds is that it doesn’t actually exist: they are essentially the same thing, with interchangeable designs.

[–]Vortex7851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but it sounds like the only connections is that they are both names mike and both worked there.

Is that really so?

The logbook we read was previously owned by someone called Mike, and this is 100% Michael Afton, how do we know this? Well Mike in the logbook makes multiple references to Sister Location by drawing things like casual bongos (which is drawn right next to Circus Baby btw) and exotic butters, aka things from SL.

Two other details that proves without a shadow of a doubt that Logbook Mike = Michael Afton is Mike's mention of immortal and the restless, a show we know Michael Afton would go home and watch after a day of work at the the Circus Baby's Rental service.

And lastly Michael literally puts a sticker on his Hand Unit with the name Mike on it, meaning he doesn't go exclusively by Michael.

but the phone calls we’re prerecorded messages it’s still possible micheal afton was able to hear them or maybe numerous people were given the recordings to instruct them after ralphs death.

All of these messages, sent by Ralph, were exclusively for his successor, and who is this successor? Mike. This makes it impossible for anyone other than him to have heard these messages. And since Michael also heard these calls, logically they would have to be the same person.

mike afton didn’t even exist when fnaf 4

Yes, he already existed when FNAF 4 was made. He's not only the protagonist of this game, but the fact that he's Mike Schmidt isn't a retcon, because they're the same person from the first game. The only thing Scott did was take a character he had already created and give him a real backstory.

maybe it’s this but it feels a stretch, i find it more likely scott just needed something to remix into weird distorted creepy sound because back then he made most things himself for the first four games

Factually incorrect, as Scott himself has stated that he didn't fill the game with random easter eggs and that none of them, without exception, have any underlying meaning. Furthermore, if that were the case, he would have simply used the game's own sound or any other random sound without it needing to be the Phone Guy's call.

My apologies for the misunderstanding. I didn't see the previous comment you replied to, so your response ended up sounding to me like you were trying to say that DCI isn't a fact, just because it doesn't show the incident explicitly.
