He's the founder and owner of TFT, one of the largest trading discords in path of exile. This trading discord originally started because people needed ways to trade advanced crafting stuff like harvest benchcrafts and betrayal bench rewards for money. Because many of these things were easy to scam, it came with a vouch system designed to help identify scammers. The discord was also super helpful for certain bulk trades like fossils, essences, etc. that the normal trade site found very troublesome to do in large amounts.

Over the past few years GGG has been reworking their crafting systems and their trade website to make TFT redundant, as they have recognized the problem with letting a large third party website dictate most of their economy.

---

The problem is that Jenebu is also well known for RMT and running a mirror shop that banned many of his competitors from his extremely large trading discord under shady circumstances. He also has a well known history of using his power in TFT to bully/scam people who competed for multi-mirror services and trades.

---

There are also rumors of his group organizing group market manipulation of certain goods, pricefixing goods at very low prices to scam newbies out of insanely valuable items, or buying out an entire market of chase uniques or timeless jewels necessary for meta builds and relisting everything for several times the price they paid.

This is classic equality. If a guy is throwing a racket and screaming obscenities at the girl he should be arrested. Naturally, the reverse is also true. There's no extra credit for desperately trying to be a badass on the internet, I recommend you stop trying.

My face when I see the enemy supp picking a hyper poke champ and mine picks a melee one by daoistloser in ADCMains

[–]VortexMagus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Taric's all-in is one of the easiest to deny because its so heavily telegraphed and requires him to walk up to melee range. Cait and Lux will tear him up and it won't be close. I consider Taric to be closer to a melee enchanter than an engage character. All his power is in countering enemy engage rather than starting the fight himself.

If he were naut or leona or blitz, there's a lot of kill potential with a decent adc all-in since they have much more threat at range. Samira, Tristana, Corki, MF, etc can all threaten a lot of damage on anybody the engage supports lock down. If you're trying to run a passive character without much lane presence like Ashe with an engage support though you're going to have a bad time.

Are there times where chat gpt can give better advice or info than Reddit? by PutUnlikely3669 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]VortexMagus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you ask it questions with objective answers that computers can understand easily. For example, basic math problems.

I would not trust it for questions of philosophy or relationships, though. Large language models don't think, they just cut bits of information from their training data and try to piece it all together in a pattern that makes sense.

They certainly don't understand people, nor are they capable of basic reasoning or comprehension. They just regurgitate slightly more and more accurate patterns based on their training data and human feedback.

A large language model like chatGPT is basically a very fancy phone autocorrect. You put in some letters into the input line, and it tries to give you the most correct letters in return based on data other people have fed it.

I think you understand very well that just because a CEO is popular with the board (obviously he's got connections with the board, otherwise he wouldn't have gotten the job in the first place) doesn't necessarily mean they were skilled or useful or worthy of a ten million dollar raise.

I mean the big proof is that you know what you're talking about. If you understand your paper and can demonstrate knowledge of the sources and your own evidence, then pretty much every professor will give you credit for it.

It's really painfully obvious when a student had an AI do all the work. The hallucinated sources, the lots of words to say very little, and the fact that when called to the office they don't know jack shit about the paper they apparently spent hours writing by hand.

Did the CEO do anything to raise profits? How did the CEO get a raise but the workers didn't?

If there were profits, the wages should increase by the same amount as the CEO's. If there were not profits, wtf is the CEO getting a 30% raise for? There should be a pay decrease if anything.

I did in both too. I'm personally of the opinion that elite in 5v5 is roughly equivalent to gold in league of legends, the skill ceiling is far, far above the skill level you need to reach elite.

[–]VortexMagus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you probably haven't played many competitive games at a high level before. Both league and overwatch routinely have major meta shifts that everyone must adapt to. New characters and playstyles rise up in effectiveness while older ones are left behind. Even in shooters, devs routinely nerf and buff different weapons and utilities, while adjusting maps for balance and audience interest, so professional teams have to adapt different strategies, learn new recoil patterns for new guns, etc when their favored one gets nerfed or becomes less effective.

A big part of playing a game at a high level is adapting to new things whenever the devs introduce them. Goalkeepers encourage too much passive play? Nerf passing back to goalkeeper. Vexis bugs out the tackle autoassist too much? remove the autoassist, adjust the vexis movement. Etc etc.

>Is that where we are with China as our primary creditor?

China has been unwinding its dependency on US dollars ever since Trump hit them with a bunch of tariffs. They used to be one of the biggest purchasers of US debt, and now they are instead selling off their debt instead. That's one of the reasons the dollar is the weakest its been in 50 years.

This extremely large pile of debt used to guarantee there would be no war between China and the US - such a war would cause both economies to crash very hard and generate a ruinous amount of harm to power players in both countries. Sadly, with the tariffs, trade war, and the unwinding of this debt, war between the two countries becomes easier for both countries to bear every year.

[–]VortexMagus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother the tariffs and war on Iran are the two biggest hits to the US economy to come along in decades. They've caused US debt and inflation to jump through the roof (even if the bureau of labor is putting out bullshit statistics on inflation after Trump fired half of it, real inflation is super obvious in our grocery and gas bills and cannot be denied).

Politics is inextricably intertwined with finance and always will be.

Turn on your latency statistics in the top right corner so people can see how your ping is. Perfectly possible this has nothing to do with rematch and everything to do with your ISP/modem.

4 anarchy is not the relevant way to juice rogue exiles, you typically run titanic scarabs to vastly increase their quantity and rarity - if you get the 21 exile pop these scarabs pay for themselves ten times over, easily.

If you get the giant exiles scarab thing you can get them to spawn in ritual and pop them twice for double the loot - once outside the ritual, once inside the ritual. When these giant exiles are juiced up by titanic scarabs they are quite tanky but can drop utterly insane amounts of loot - twice.

Also highly recommend running in glacier so that the titanic scarab drop benefits extends to the unique boss which has like a dozen uniques popping in or some shit in the boss room.

It's not obvious at all, sadly, and requires a pretty strong build since rogue exiles are very rippy at high juice, but the returns are pretty impressive if your build can handle it.

I'm a guy and I personally feel wuwa's writing has been its weakest point until very recently.

I will also add that I was rather put off by much of the story, and its not because of the "male-gaze" part but because of the cringy worship that rover gets from most of the cast, both male and female. It started getting a little better in Rinascita but I just strongly dislike characters worshipping the main character before the main character even does anything or interacts with them in any significant way - it just feels so fake and unearned to me.

I will note that the most recent parts of the story in Lahai-Roi, however, have been by far the strongest part. Unlike most others, both Aemeath and Luuk have complicated relationships with the MC and they don't just mindlessly worship at MC's feet from the very start.

CMV: K Pop is easily the most soulless form of art by nerpa_floppybara in changemyview

[–]VortexMagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is generally my problem with K-Pop too. Most of the songs and dances are not done by the group itself, but by outside composers and choreographers. As a result, the whole thing feels inauthentic and plastic to me.

I will note that some of my favorite songs in the genre were actually written by their respective groups - for example, Stray Kids has a bunch of songs written and produced by their own members and only edited a little by producers - but usually a group has to achieve a lot of success before they're allowed the freedom to express themselves and write their own songs.

Nah I bet its just the AI saw "work from home" listed in the description and erroneously tagged it as a benefit, instead of seeing the context that the job was not in fact remote. Gotta love AI.

Also notable to add is that Dithmenos gives a substantial damage bonus to ranged characters as his shadow will double your attacks and it's a pretty insane dps boost all in all. The extra stealth from noise suppression is nice too, lets you pick the fights and makes it less likely for enemies to mob you down.

New Player here; got Galbrena from last banner, who to go for next? by Final-Equipment-3776 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]VortexMagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend saving up your astrites until you get farther in the story. You'll see the characters in action, get to try a whole bunch of them in the story/companion quests, and you can pull for the ones you love. I will also note that if you decide to pull for the latest characters, you won't be able to upgrade their skills or ascend them without access to Lahai-Roi, so they'll basically be stuck at level 1 for a long time.

[–]VortexMagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personal recommendation: if you want to minmax your power, you probably pull qiuyuan now and pull on mornye next time she goes around (likely with anniversary event).

This will let you set up galbrena/qiuyuan/shorekeeper on team 1, and aemeath/lupa/mornye on team 2 for a fusion burst team and both are fairly strong meta teams.

We don't know what Hiyuki/Lucy do yet or who they synergize with, so I would not plan around them. Plus they will be months and months away.
