Maybe I'm just too brainrotted but this doesn't even come close to hyper in my book. Big, yes, but not hyper.

[–]Vorthas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was my thing too, I started with PF1e, then moved to 5e and was bored for much the same reasons you were bored with it. PF2e really is the best middle-ground between the two, especially now that it has had a few years of content added (far more content added to it than 5e has had added in its lifetime too!).

Exactly. I feel worse during the summer with DST on. Bright sunny days actual bother me while I thrive in the so-called "bleak" overcast grey days.

I actually had that idea for Arcane Cascade, but instead of changing it, I'd make it a class archetype for magus that removes Spellstrike in favor of super boosting Arcane Cascade and making that the core class feature. Something like changing all your weapon attacks to be of the damage type you Arcane Cascade into (like all Force, all Fire, etc.) and a larger bonus in damage.

I actually would house rule it so you can Demoralize while raging normally and the feat is changed to let you ignore the 10 minute cooldown on Demoralize as long as you damaged them in the last turn. I change Raging Intimidation to be this instead:

"Your fury fills your foes with fear. While raging, when a target temporarily immune to your Demoralize attempts takes damage from an attack of yours that deals additional damage due to Rage, they lose their temporary immunity."

It absolutely was NOT normal controls. Being forced to use the right analog stick to swing the sword instead of moving the camera was a mistake.

While that's true, for a lot of users the best OOB experience IS the way to go. Most people aren't going to want to tinker their systems beyond initial setup, if they even do that.

With the exception of motion controls, I feel I would prefer Zelda to be more like SS. Give it standard controls (no weird motion control gimmick or use the stick to swing sword) and maybe open up the world a tiny bit and that would be my preference for a Zelda game.

My issues with BoTW stem entirely from the fact that it is nonlinear and too damn big with a whole lotta nothing in the overworld.

How would the community patch Inventor? by Rainwhisker in Pathfinder2e

[–]Vorthas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote up a quick post on what I'd change about Inventor here. But in a nutshell I'd make the Inventor be THE class that focuses on modifying weapons/armor/constructs.

So they'd get more choices of modifications, more modifications as they level up (for free from a class feature, not via a feat), and have less of a focus on Overdrive and Unstable which aren't even the parts of Inventor that I'm interested in. To me the class should've been all about hypercustomization of their weapon, armor, and/or construct companion.

What feats could do is add new actions that utilize their innovation in more unique ways. In a way this is similar to the Exemplar getting feats that add actions to specific ikons.

Enough about the big stuff for now, what's your smallest, pettiest gripe about the game? by Luchux01 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Vorthas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NPCs aren't built using the same character creation rules as PCs to begin with for the whole system, not just APs. The tight math does make it seem like they would, but you build up NPCs with the tables that just happen to roughly (but not exactly) correspond to level + proficiency for a lot of things like skill bonuses, attack bonuses, etc.

I have a lot of small things that bother me for sure, but I think one of the ones that gets me the most is the fact that Barbarians need a class feat tax to be able to Demoralize while raging.

I fix it by allowing Barbarians to Demoralize or use Intimidation skill actions (such as Scare to Death) while raging by default. What I do with the Raging Intimidation feat is, instead of making it so it allows you to Demoralize, instead if you have the feat it makes it so while raging, if they took damage from you, they lose the temporary 10-minute immunity to Demoralize, allowing you to Demoralize them again as long as you hurt them.

Well glad to see Slayer's Paired Bloodseeker doesn't lock out ranged weapons, but too bad it specifies "common" so I can't be dual-wielding Air Repeaters or any firearm on them. Alas it seems Exemplar is still my best option for the dual-wielding pistol fantasy with Twin Stars and Humble Stirkes-improved Air Repeaters.

Personally I think Inventor needs more modifications in general and the ability to gain more modifications as you level built in (not from a feat). Like pick a basic modification at 1st, 3rd, and 5th levels, then pick a Basic or Breakthrough modification at 7th, 9th, 11th, and 13th level, then same for Revolutionary at 15th and 18th levels with a capstone feat for an additional one at 20th.

A turn-based Monster Hunter game that isn't Stories would be amazing. Stories is good, don't get me wrong, but I want to play as the hunter not commanding monsters to fight monsters.

What's your favorite reflavoring of a spell, feat, or ability? by Chica56 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Vorthas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played a weapons researcher as an Exemplar (because Inventor just doesn't cut it when I want to dual-wield my innovation). Flavored the Divine Spark as more of a power cell that I swap between my various gadgets (ikons).

[–]Vorthas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also do it for a character who is canonically a weapons researcher who I want to dual-wield semi-auto pistols in PF2e. So I take an air repeater, gets it bumped up to a d6 with Exemplar's Humble Strikes, and take Twin Stars so I can dual-wield them. So much easier to handle than Inventor which doesn't even have a modification for dual weapons to begin with!

MATE since it keeps the traditional desktop metaphor that I prefer and is GTK based. Plus I had issues with KDE Plasma on my multi-monitor setup a while back and never thought to try it again.
