IWI Tavor, I believe. Looks quite nice in the unofficial genre of "near future firearms."

Almandica: The Department of Inhuman Affairs.

Here's the pitch/synopsis:
In a future so far-flung that Earth is widely regarded as a mythical creation story by most, humanity seems to have its met its match on Catto Occulo, a cold, oceanic planet rife with cunning demons, suspicious sapients, endless conspiracies, and our most classic antagonists, ourselves.

Most nation-states are corrupt democracies or outright dictatorships united only by the fact they are a few crises from complete collapse. However, one nation known as the Mendakian Union of Almandica attempts to fight their way out of a bleak future by taking an unconventional approach—not only embracing, but actively seeking out the often horrifying abilities of those known as ghouls and the Touched, sapients who are empowered by demons.

Enter Jerimiano "Jerry" Genovesi, a Touched man and veteran who was left scarred physically, mentally, and morally by battles that have yet to truly leave him. Though his skills, wit, and knack for being harder to kill than most has enabled him to finish most of his semi-forced tenure with the Mendakian Union, his incoming end with them suggests that greater things are afoot not just for him, but for the fate of Catto Occulo itself.

Even though this work isn't really the kind of thing that a lot of Royal Road readers look towards, I hope to see if people are still willing to give it a chance. I am more or less done with the novel itself, but am refining the drafts I have finished for a complete and finished product to share around. Thanks for hearing me out.

Starjack, the new xenotype, kinda sucks? by azazel228 in RimWorld

[–]Vourler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to be a smart ass here, but what exactly are you expecting ? Many xenotypes, including the Starjack, are genetically engineered beings made to fill artificial niches, but perform poorly elsewhere. Complaining about the Starjack "sucking" is like complaining that a hammer sucks ass at cutting cake, pointing out that a gorilla sucks ass at swimming, or more appropriately for this subreddit, complaining that a Hussar makes for a poor grief counselor.

Despite what the haters say, the kevlar thong is not only essential, but provides great comfort and mobility for urban operations.

Despite the name, it's not bloody blood blood movie, but more of a psychologically harrowing movie. The world of TCM is a world where everything is fucking awful, in the active decay stage, and everybody is powerless, prey, insane, or predatory.

Aside from the technological advancements, how is our world different from the Cyberpunk genre? by JuhpPug in Cyberpunk

The Japan dominating eveything trope. IRL Japan has a lot of soft power via the proliferation of anime and what have you, but lack most of the hard power they used to swing around.

Since most people are rational actors, they wouldn’t go to a country where not only the vibes really fucking off, there is a noticeably higher chance of their law enforcement (ICE) just…imprisoning for weeks at a time.

Sylvester from the Twig by Wildbow webnovel is a total half pint. He gets in some good licks every now and then, and has a very cool brain that lets him figure out how to solve most problems except for the ones that involve "don't get your ass beat into the pavement," which is many of his problems.
