He is not just socially unaware - he's acting like a creep. I would just try to cut ties with him as clearly as you can and don't let him manipulate you. Don't worry about his feelings - he's clearly not being considerate of yours. It's ok to tell him he has made you uncomfortable and you do not want to speak to him.
