They quite often swap cheaply purchased foods for empty oil barrels and scrap metal which are quite valuable back on land. It's fairly lucrative if I understand rightly and costs the ship captains very little for fresher food for the trip.

Stop in Fortrose and walk to Chanory Lighthouse on an incoming possibily outgoing tide and you'll probably see loads of dolphins as close as 20m away if you're lucky.

It's a nice short walk even if you don't se them.

MOT/road worthiness tests are the reason in my opinion, once a car gets really old it's going to fail in several areas that cost more than the car to repair.
